Westone 3 Impressions Thread - Page 127

The longer P-series allows a little more distance between the nozzle end and your eardrum.  This effect varies from IEM to IEM but for W3 I think it sounds best.  More spacious and open sound presentation (like headphones) versus more closed in sounding from the shorter tips.

will do. i found one of the silicone and one of the foam tips that already come with it to be pretty great but it can't hurt to try something else. i'm just excited about my new toy.

Hey tehsprayer , apparently the comply foam tips does not last that long , also do not go for Shure olives you will have a hard time taking them off. But i would like to know if the Westone 3 are a great deal , last a long time (COMPARED to my Shure 215 died in 1 day)

Same over here ! I also have to wait for x-mas. I've read plenty for reviews of these , and i'm pretty sure i'm going to be something good out of them.

Hope the durability of the Westone 3 are long lasting.

I think they have a 2 year warranty.

If it lasts over a year that would make me happy. My reasons are that the TF10 has gotten people replaced with the UE 900 and the SE535 has gotten people replaced with the SE846 meaning if they do go discountinued (soon) may have a possible replacement with the W30 or even the 4r or something.

Yeah , its all about the upgrades they do. But the Westone 30 have a detachable, it looks very familiar than those Shures cables.

The W4r have lowered the price but it would be awesome if they put it the same price as the W3 , it's truly rare

Depends on how you take care of them. Mine are still going strong after nearly three years of use, but I'm very careful with them. No gym, no running or working out while listening. Sweat or exposure to rain, etc. will harm them for sure.

Thanks technocrafts.

Personnally they are not for me then. I'm looking for IEMs to working out with. I guess the detachable cable is made for: like studio , listening to music in the transports etc..

If you see above people workout without issues. Just be cautious as with any IEM while working out.

Later maybe look at getting a removable cable mod: http://btg-audio.com/webstore.htm#ecwid:category=2609209&mode=product&product=11546437

OR even reshelling with removable cable

Does that mean workout with your IEM can damage it? That means I should buy earbuds to gym and IEM to use in general?

You shouldn't have an issue but just be cautious for sweat getting into the drivers.
