There are several posts (I posted one myself) in the Westone 3 threads outlining what you have to do to get the MS Cashback discount. But it's now down to 20 percent (was up to 30%), and many of us got lucky and happened to receive a 10 percent added coupon from ebay/paypal on top. So right now, 20 percent is the best you can do, I believe.

Addendum, 12-3-2008, Additional Impressions After I wrote this comparison review I did some further experimentration with the various tips included and with some other one's I had laying around. I found that the W3s are very sensitive to different tips and the seal one gets. Of the universal tips the one I used for the review ended up sounding the best. However, I also have a UM 56 that I haven't been using which I fished out and attached to the W3. Made quite a difference. The bass was not as boomy as with the gels, but still of the same basic character as I discussed in the review. The highs were more extended and sparkly. This was a quite noticeable difference and made them sound better in the treble than the TF 10s in the higher regions, cleaner and more detailed. So, it is quite clear that small differences in the seal and charater of the tips have a strong effect on the sound of the W3s. ![]() |

Kudos, congratulations, and thanks to Westone - they're simply wonderful! (and every other superlative I can think of).
... The Westone 3's are un-freakin' believable! |

Thanks for the new edit, vorlon. Goes to show that most of the impressions users will hear are definitely fit dependent. I'll try my stakes with the Jays gels first and hope they give a perfect fit. The UM56 would definitely be the utmost fit, if it'll be the last resort.

I've always been using earbuds type before this.

ahhian - yes
a good seal will block out around 80-90% of outside noise, this will also be evident in sq. so a loose seal = crappy bass, and little isolation thats my opinion edit: oh lucky you for W3 as your first iem! |
