I'll be releasing the list tonight, sorry about the day delay, was bogged down writing up a report. It should be up around 8 or 9 pm EST. If many of you are going to ship via Amazon or the like anyway, why not get the coordinates from your partner ASAP and then ship out tonight or tomorrow? This will give plenty of time for the post or whoever to deliver the gift on time.

Now, if I understand, it would be silly to send the partner exactly what they want, because otherwise we/they could just buy it ourselves. We are to send something that we like and really want to share with others, right?

Yeah, This is a great way to get to listen to some tunes that you may not normally buy for yourself, and introduce a new artist to your recipient.

True, but it's still probably best to buy something within a genre the person already likes. Giving them something Country & Western for example, if they don't like Country and Western, will likely mean they won't like your selection ... even if you love it and it's great Country and Western.

Okay folks, I'm home and getting organized. I'm breaking out the Tilley Hat and my wife will be drawing names shortly. I'll be posting the results within the hour.

As for gifts, I leave it up to the partners to figure out what to do, but I will say...don't screw the person. If they dislike a genre and declare as much, don't try to convert them by sending your personal fav. Find something else that might interest them. I think surprising someone with something interesting is definitely cool, but just because you can buy something yourself doesn't mean you necessarily will, or will get around to it any time soon. Therefore, I figure, do a combo, figure out what genre they like and then try to send something that is perahps rare, obscure or a local talent that you think they will like. I like to do this buy sending some Canadian indie works out, top rated, but perhaps not well known south of the border.
