SOLD: Rega io DAC

up for grabs is a well looked after and great condition (100% working order) Rega io DAC

these very rarely come up for sale on their own, so dont miss this unique opportunity!

bought originally as a 2 part Box Set with the Rega Jupiter transport, the io was £450 when new.

this would be absolutely ideal for someone running a rega planet to upgrade its output even further, or even someone running a jupiter without its moon! ;-)

i am running my jupiter throught my DAC1 now so this is surplus to requirements, but i must admit the rega sound i loved so much is slightly lost running it through the DAC1!

if you own a CD player (doesnt need to be rega, or any other digital device) which has digital coax out, then you can utilize this io DAC, to feed your CDP or other device and turn it into a high quality transport, with the much loved rega sound signature.

the io has two audio connections on the back.
  • digital coax in
  • analogue RCA out

no interconnects are provided

it has a hardwired (captive) power cord terminated in a UK 3 pin plug

there are no controls on the front of the io DAC other than a power on/off button and a red led indicator to indicate power.

it has the standard rega raised round feet on each corner raising it by appox an inch, these are rubberized in parts to provide isolation and stability

this is a very well built, solid piece of equipment, no lightweight plastic here, it has a cold to the touch black matte, metal body with 'grilling'/fins on the right hand side, matching the jupiter/planet MK1's aesthetics

if you are interested please make your offer.

ships from the UK

paypal only, fees are on me.

more info:

  • Analogue output level: 2V RMS @ 1kHz (minimum load impedance: 10K)
  • Digital input level: 0.5V 75ohm load S/PDIF coaxial
  • Digital sampling frequency: 32KHz, 44.1kHz, 48kHz
  • Dimensions (WxDxH): 435 x 256 x 64mm

bump for one of the diamonds in the ruff type deals. my love for the original rega planet cd player lead me to this dac and it delivers on point. you can describe it as strictly groovy. i'm actually surprised you went from this to the dac1 which is total opposite signature.

thanks for bump, yeah nice solid, old school dac for sure.
i agree, but it was silly to be running it DAC to DAC (the io dac into the dac1)
besides, i am more of a fan of clinical detail than groovy musicality
