an amp with the SE530 makes the highs materialize; must have something to do with the treble energy being harder to drive. thats been my experience anyway. and yeah from what I here the C3 is like a custom SE530 but perhaps not quite as refined

Yes, my exonerated SE530 was paired with an amp, it was pretty terrible (to me anyway) straight out from the ipod. Thanks guys, that pretty much ruled C3 out for me.

I do some on stage performances occasionally, I saw a review before comparing Sleek Custom to UE10 (!!), so would you say the Sleeks are detail and refine enough to use as a monitor on stage?

You guys are really really helpful here as always, thanks!!
