Thanks, manaox2, I actually found that page, but I don't understand "at the player ( white side up)", does that mean I start to count from the left when the face (LCD screen) is up? Thanks

Yeah. If your iPod was white with the chrome back, that would probably have made more sense.

I own 2 iModded iPods that I personally sent to Vinnie for modding. One of them came back without any marking by RWA, and the other does have the labeling - both were clearly modded (one is a 4th gen, and one is a 5.5).

I understood that the OP has a 5.5 one because otherwise it would be really easy to check it it was moded by seeing if the volume control works for example, no?

No.
When you use the lineout, the volume control is already bypassed. No need to iMod for the deactivated volume control.

OK, my multimeter probes seem to be too big, no matter how I try, I could not get any reading. 0 all the time.

I understand that the PIN 1, 2 are for ground and 3 or 4 are for left or right channel, so I connect the imod with a regular IPOD line out cable and measure the DC voltage between the ground and left/right channel, and they are 1.5V. So I guess mine is an IMOD?
