Klipsch sale @ half price - Page 11

I use large double-flange as well, they are excellent!

Also, the package that came with the X10 was so large i could barely believe it; it was about the size of a backpack! not kidding. It took atleast 10 minutes just to get the center of all the packaging; the box they put the IEM's into themselves resembled a 3D hypercube...

I've been thinking about putting a christmas present in the double plastic boxes. They're still relatively intact, and I think I can throw an extra level of annoying into the mix with lots of tape.

EDIT: Also, I can't really stand the large double-flange. They fit well enough, but they itch like hell. Probably because they vibrate in my ear. The large single flange works best for me. (Also, strangely enough, on my (about) 20" monitor @ 1440x900 resolution, my avatar is exactly to scale the real life size of the X10!)

I'm using the X10 with the D2, and the sound is simply amazing, especially with FLAC format.

My settings:
EQ: 80Hz 0 ; 230 Hz -2 ; 850 Hz -3 ; 3.2kHz -2 ; 11.7kHz -3
BBE: 1
Mach3Bass: 3
3D Surround: 1
Stereo Enhance: 0
MP Enhance: Unchecked
Volume at about 34/50.

I am also using the x10 with the d2 and am liking them a lot. Mostly 256kb mp3s and I have EQ flat with no sound enhancements. Volume is usually at 6/50. So far I am finding to find the Red Hot Chili Peppers to sound the best on these compared to the rest of my headphones. Although I am still trying to find which size tip I like best. Right now it is between the small double and medium single. I think medium double would be perfect.

I prefer the single medium tips. The large double flanges definitely give better isolation but for some reason, they increase the bass, muffle the treble and shorten the soundstage. I wish they fit and sounded just as good because the double's fit the best in my ears.

Exact same situation with me.

Though I am still watching the IE8 thread.

My X5 were waiting on my desk when I got in this morning. I'm very happy with them. Listening to some of my evaluation tracks, they have as much bass as I want. With the small biflange tips, I even get bass impact as everything vibrates on the lowest notes. Those tips are a little too big though, so I'm listening with the small, single tips now and I still love the bass. As with all in ears I've tried, microphonics were horrible unless I put the cables over my ears. Fortunately, it's easy to do with these.

Edit: I agree with Hoeboe2k's post above. Bass is better with the biflange tips, but at the expense of the rest of the sound. I much prefer the sound with the small tips. I'll see how good isolation is when I ride the subway home tonight. I have 2, 5 hour flights this weekend. After wearing these for a half hour, I'm not sure that I'll be able to use them for the entire flight. They're not as comfortable as my UM1.

best solution for reducing hiss on the custom 3s?

it's not so bad that it's audible when music's playing, but I just don't like it.
