Almost got convinced to go with the Fuze from some folks on the board who swear by em. Once I found out about the proprietary connector, lack of dedicated volume buttons and limited EQ options (not to mention almost no meaningful track info on Now Playing), I decided to go with Cowon d2...(double the cost, more than double the player)

But from what I hear, if all you want is to listen to some tunes and are not wanted to tweak anything, Fuze might just do the trick, especially at these price points. It also has an excellent FM radio with RDS display...

4gb Clip for $35 sounds pretty damn sexy, but then again the 8gb one is available for $70.

Sony 8gb and 4gb MP3 Player for $79.99 and $49.99 at Circuit City.
The 8gb (judging from their online store) could be either the E438, A818, A828, or A728. Blackfriday.fm claims it is the A818.
The 4gb can be the E436, S616, or A816. Blackfriday.fm claims it is the S616.

I don't know how trustworthy Blackfriday.fm is, but 80 bucks for the A818 is a good deal, no? I double-checked on another Black Friday site, bfads.net, and it confirms the A818 for $79.99, but no mention of a 4gb Sony.

Best Buy offers an 8gb Nano for $150 but it comes with a $20 Best Buy gift card, so it's pretty much $130 if you like shopping there.

Good Friday I think?

Black Friday is just the beginning of the holiday shopping season.

Technically speaking Black Friday is the day many retailers go into the black financially. Though this year the way things have been I think there is a good chance it'll take them a bit longer to start making a profit.

its the day after thanksgiving, basically its part of the thanksgiving/x-mas/whatever holiday madness, you have thanksgiving, eat till you puke, and then shop till you drop the day after

Yep, Black Friday deals are associated with the Thanksgiving holidays in the US.

Circuit City will have the Sony A810 8GB for $79.99 on Black Friday. Don't know if that's a good deal or not.

Seems like it, but I think I'm gonna save some money and opt for the 4gb Clip for $35.

Head-Direct has some Thanksgiving sales for those who are interested.

I could get a 4gb clip and RE2s with Fiio E3 for just $115
