"Edition 8 is hand-made in Germany. The outer ear cups are covered in Ruthenium. This precious metal is known for its brilliant metallic sheen and durable properties. The outer ear cups are emblazoned with a decorative clasp of noble metal. The interior ear cups and the headband are covered in very soft genuine dark grey Ethiopian sheepskin leather."

So is the entire outter ear cup is made in ruthenium or just plating. Interiror ear cups are in sheepskin leather. What material is the ear cup made in? Ruthenium?

Really? I heard the ED9 being touted as a great metal can due to its signature and speed. Nobody ever mentioned good or bad mids but I figure since nobody mentioned them good that they could be a bit better. I was hoping ED8 would have that.

It's probably ruthenium covering plastic, and the sheepskin is just on the headband and earpads.

The Edition 9 are amazing with metal music. With the right amp, the mids of the Edition 9 are IMO as good as the mids of the RS-1.

The Edition 9 description from the Edition 8 page....

"The specifically created box allows you to store
your Edition9 safely and convenient even for
transportation. The earcups are black ruthenium plated
and the insignia on the earcups is made of
chrome-plated brass, crafted in Bavaria. Earpads
and head pad are made of soft genuine Ethiopian
hair sheep leather in dark grey."
