I agree with you 100%. I think hat the bass on these HP is perfect when worn normally. When turned sideways, it is fun but only for a short time.

Suddenly the price:performance value is increased!!

I use my ED8's for portable use only.  This is because If I want to use them on my amps I would have to get them re cabled.  So why not just leave the stock cable on and use it for portable use.  Besides the stock cable is really short..

Yeah, I also get a huge bass boost whenever I look to my left (but not to my right, for some reason).  I'm also Asian, if that makes a difference (do we all have funny-shaped heads?).

But I agree that the level of bass when worn normally seems fine to me. If you would like a little extra warmth, the ALO MK3 amp has a very subtle bass boost knob.  The amp is an awesome compliment to the Ed. 8s otherwise; it's a very neutral, high-resolution amp, so it doesn't make the Ed. 8s sound muddy or overly warm.  IME, some amps which are even just slightly colored can accentuate the Ed. 8's V-shaped tendencies.

After reading lots of comment i'm thinking of upgrading myself a edition 8 as its very portable and very stylish :)

I'm curious how much is edition 8 better than pro900 ? Will i see a wow factor ?

If anyone wanna let go his edition 8 is perfectly working condition i'm up to consider buying in used as it will be

cheaper and wont burn a hole in my pocket as its already.

To me edition 8 are much better than the pro900. The pro900 are just unlistenable to me. using edition 8 in malaysia in public wont be a good idea tongue.gif

There comes a someone in the very high level. I saw your posting in lowyat forum as well haha...

In terms of using it in the public is not a good idea due to our country security wise you mean ?

Yes. The bling factor is too high for outdoor.

I do use my Ed8 LE outdoors ..  SOMETIMES...

I'm not afraid of the bling factor..  I mean, its all Beats here anyway..  what the **** is ultrasone???

However, the sweat is worrying, as is the overall humidity..  dust and dirty air....

They're better off in a controlled environment, like homes, hotels, offices, airplanes and what not.

Even resting on my neck, the contact between skin and a portion of the leather evokes sticky sweat. And no matter what Ultrasone claims they sourced the damn leather from, sweat shouldn't be too great for it...

If you're in KL/Subang and you're interested in listening to the Ed8s..  give me a buzz..

I use my Ed8LE outdoor most of the time as well.  Usually on the transit system.  It's a lot of Beats here as well.  I trained my daughters on the badness (in a bad way) of Beats so now every time they see someone wearing them, they point the person out to me and say "Hey dad, look.  Beats.rolleyes.gif"  and then I laugh along with them.tongue.gif

It's quite humid and hot here as well and I do not have much facial hair so I get a fair amount of skin contact too (but at least I can get a better seal that waybiggrin.gif).

This one of the things I do love about the Tokyo culture. I (used to) walk around with my Ed8LEs in Starbucks and it's very normal. I can even get away with my Fostex TH-900. Probably the strangest I've seen (although getting used to it now) is this distinguished older gentleman who wheels in his carry-on suitcase into Starbucks every week night and in it, he has his JVC/Victor DX1000 plugged into a boom box (I kid you not!!) and lots of CDs.

So my thoughts is that if he can get away with that, I could get away with my Ed8LE easily - now replaced with TH900's.

I don't think peoples in malaysia know anyone ultrasone most of the time so what the heck.... Ed8s looks much more stylish than beats anytime anywhere hands down

I heard that Ed8 logos and wordings wears of easily due to usage ??

I'm from KL actually but currently traveling for work here and there.. I will be back to KL end of the week.. If you are in KL this sat i would love to listen to the Ed8s...

It makes me wonder how is it feels like another level up.. I saw your post in lowyat saying you are able to get ultrasone for a cheap price ?

Actually i need some help. I bought J$ leather pad for my pro900 but i don't know how do it replace it to the ear cup. Anyone can be at help ?

Tokyo, Kyoto and Nagoya are places I saw people walk around with any headphones (HD800, K701, even green Q701), but that was before the earthquake. I dont know if they still do that right now.

The LE has a matte finish so it is more low profile than the ruthenium. The ruthenium edition is really shiny when wearing it outside and gets unnecessary attention haha.

Agree about the sweat and it can get really hot wearing it outside.
