Netherlands meet; NEW INFO! Jan 18th. - Page 4

Thanks to Anouk I found this thread. Sorry, I have been busy so I do not have time to read all new posts on Head FI .

Indeed I was planning something next year. I am looking to april/may time frame though. Jan/Feb is too busy as it looks like now.

I have already discussed with the main Headphone distributors to set up a sort of Head Fi VAD (the dutch know the VAD right?) Lets call it the VHD, Verenigde Head-fi Distributeuren.

It should be a two area set up, one for the true head-fi meet and all our own equipment and another area for the manufacturers stuff. We have a nice conference facility just around the corner here, where this could be realised.
They all had 'ears for this'.

But this would also take more then a couple of months to organise so jan/feb would be too close to set this up, so hence the april/may time frame.
Intention is a saturday.

I am looking at involvement of at least the following brands/distributors:
Ultrasone, Grado, Stax, Audio Technica, Meier Audio, Qables, Lehmann, Graham Slee, Ultimate Ears.

If you all can wait until then it would be fine with me.

Ok, it seems like it will be April/May and not January/February.
Then I suggest a common date with CanJam 2009. That date is not set yet, but it was May 3-4 this year...

HEllo, It is a pity to have to wait longer, but maybe now we can try to get more people together and make it a sort of europe meet, indeed maybe seem date as canjam would be a good idea...
Greetings, Anouk,

Well we have to take care about school holidays and banking holidays here in NL if we want to included distributors. So we are not fully free in choosing the date if I go ahead with my idea and involving them.

Thank you Hans for your support! You got a nice selection of distributors there and looking at the meet impressions from last year I gotta say I'm very excited! I rather schedule the meet somewhere not in May though. It's a busy time for students (final exams). April is fine though a little sooner would be perfect. But I guess I'm the only high school student.

Glad I could help Anouk. Make sure you post your profile here. You'll have a friend request in no-time.

BTW, I love the grammar/choice of words here. It's so obvious everyone here is Dutch.

Hello Hans and others, Anny chance of involving Rudistor as well? I know they are not that close by, but since they are from europe too....
April would be great
Greetings, Anouk,
ps still sorting out how I can post my last.fm profile

Shush, you! :P

I forgot to post a more-or-less complete gear list:

Sources:
Asus EEE 1000 (Source for USB dacs, possibly, dual boots Windows and Ubuntu 8.10)
Zune 80
Sansa Clip (With a broken volume button), possibly a Sansa Fuze coming up...

Amps:

Fiio E3 x 2 (Not that I use them much, but they're cute)
iBasso D2Viper

Phones:

UE 11 Pro (Slight problem with trying those, though.)
Ety Er6i Black
Junky Sennheiser Mx400? :P

DT880 (2005, 250 Ohm, standard edition)
AKG K518 (Or 81, don't remember)
Senn PX200

Maybe we should start compiling a gear list for what we can bring? I might look a little odd, but I'm betting I can bring all that using clever packing.

Oh, and I propose a side-dish of poker, a small tournament just for laughs would be rather entertaining, but I'm not bringing chips unless I have my driver's license by then.

Hey, making a gear list is kidna diffiuclt for me if the meet is in april, I totally dont know what I will have at that time lol.

Hans, taking it a step further and doing the whole thing on a more proffesional / bigger level seems like a very good idea. It would be incredible if you can get something like that together!

It's still such a long time till April or May though. How about we eager people get together in January as a bit of a pre-party and have some fun while waiting for the big thing?

Well, I certainly wouldn't mind that either It's been awhile since the last one!

I really like Hans his idea and for a big meet it sounds like absolute juicy fun. Let's kick Canjam's ASS! (although I was thinking of attending this year but I'll probably not make it)

I'll most likely bring (my signature I guess):

Edition 9
Proline 750
Larocco PRII MKII AD744 mod
Akai AM 69
Apogee Duet with Mogami cable
Powerbook
Ipod 160gb

@ Onyu: you have to come, I want to hear your Stax again

@ krmathis: It would be so nice meeting you! Did you receive your goodie already...?!

Yeah let's kick Canjam's ass! That's going into the sig.

Digitalmind is spot on. It's such a long time. I'm up for the pre-party as well. Also Hans' meet will have to be even better than the pre-party. A nice goal.

Hello, I think its a great idea, digitalmind and I am also totally for kicking canjams ass hehehe! I wonder how internationa lcanjam is? I have never really followed their meet impressions (although it would be so totally cool to be there!) bu tI wonder how many international people really are able to make canjam, especially the european crowd. We seem to be a head-fi minority anyway (at least if you look at the for sale/trade forums...).
Well I am off tweaking with my last.fm profile!

Yep.... Preparty sounds very nice.

Currently i am very low on gear. Gone sell my Shure E3, Sennheiser Lucas system and B&O A8, iPod 3G 40GB.

But my friend has several interesting stuff, like the silverstone dac, vibes, several jays. And we both have the Velleman HPE1's with comply tips. Maybe i can interest my other friend to come along. He has a Grado 325 with a perreaux amp.

Also i would like to suggest 3 other manufactures to get them to attend:

1) Tec Amp with there pleasure pump and pleasure board. Originally intended for the Bassplayer's IEM setup. But no the less interesting for the Headfi setup at home. Had the pleasure trying it out last MusikMesse. Very impressive and unique experience. That was one giant subwoofer . Didn't hear it with music though, but i am guessing it would be bloody impressive.

My German is really bad, so is anyone else willing to contact those people? And is there any interest in the products i have mentioned?

Love to hear some reactions!

Edit: I've forgot, i am on the list to test the tensionlab EAP03 when a more final version is ready. Hopefully i can bring it with me to the meet!

Indra. It would be nice meeting you as well, and the other Head-Fi'ers in the area.
With "goodies" I guess you mean the B22. It shipped out two days ago, and will hopefully be here sometime next week. Can't wait!
