Netherlands meet; NEW INFO! Jan 18th. - Page 14

Well there are two meets. One being the so-called pre-meet which is being held the 18th. Rik (Digitalmind) is going to be host to that meet. It will be a smaller meet where people can bring their own stuff.
The other meet will be a lot bigger and is scheduled for May-ish. Hans (Hoosterw) from Qables will be host to that meet. He already managed to get some nice stuff there. Of course there will be room to bring your own stuff as well.

Hope you all had a nice Christmas.

Depending on the time in April / May i may be able to fly over from England. Depending on the price of flights etc.

Should be able to bring a Pico, MBP and some Shures.

Aw as it looks now I won't make it. There was some hope but it looks like my 'new' information wasn't right. Doh.
I think I'll be able to make it as well...
Would've loved to hear the infamous Pico though, I almost ordered one for my Macbook Pro as well... Maybe I should skip this one and join Hans' party!

Anyways, I'll probably bring my NjoeTjoeb Reference with the Zana Deux, HD650 + Equinox and the MS-Pro.

I'll be selling the HD-650 and MS-Pro after the meet, I think... I'm going all-in with the K1000 again, using the Zana Deux as pre-amp and FirstWatt F1 as power-amp. I'll probably add a nice closed headphone in the future, but we'll see which headphone...

BTW, at what time are we welcome at HeadFi paradise?

Hey everyone OH man, I so want to come! The zana deux is calling me!
Man that thing has to be great! Yes, I AM drooling now!
Oh yes a happy new year to you all with many happy and satisfactory head-fi purchases to be had!
Greetings, Anouk,

There is one little bad news, though... Using the MS-Pro, I noticed some static on the left channel using the Zana Deux. I'm emailing back and forth with Craig now about this issue. There is a chance I'll have to send it back for a check-up (it's going to cost me big time!), but I won't send it back before the meet...

With the HD-650, the static is barely audible...

*Update*
It appears I might have a bad resistor in the 6SL7 circuit. I have to send it back!!!!! I hate it...
*Update 2*
It's official now... No Zana Deux at the meet. I'll shipping it to Craig this Saturday. I'm extremely sorry Anouk, but we don't know if not fixing could damage the ZD any further. I'll try to make it to Hans' meet and maybe you can listen to the ZD there? Once again, I'm extremely sorry...

Ha !

I just realised I live 5mn away from where Rik (whom I never met, hello Rik!).

I may be able to join the meeting on the 18th.

Two issues though:

- My dutch sucks (well, if you bother me I can curse very well)
- I don't have much gear to bring as I recently (re)started investing on a bit of gear. (AKG K 272 HD/Ibasso D2 BOA/Ipod) ... Don't laugh ;-)

Hey everyone, I have a very ot question so sorry for thread hijakcing/stealling and please pm me if you have an answer for me, but since there are such a lot of dutchies in this thread i thought this would be the ideal place to ask.... I wonder if anyone has ever gotten custom earprotection plugs or custom iems? I am thinking (only thinking though) about getting the westone 3 iem but then with custom sleeves (its still cheaper then the ue customs or the acs customs) but now I wonder where i could have ear impressions made. At a shop where they sell hearing aids (audicien) or would i have to go to an audiologist? I think they recommend the last option but i dont think you can just visit an audiologist, i have done some searching and it seems they are mostly located in hospitals and you only get there with a prescription from a doctor (doorverwijzing)..... And i would like to have them done right the first time because sending stuff to the usa takes long (thats why i dont want to do the hearityourself kit, and i dont want to damage my ears in the process of course)...
Any idea how much ear impressions will cost...
Thanks in advance for any information,
Greetings, Anouk,

Anouk.

I'm a nightclub photographer, so I had to protect my ears as I work all the time next to big speakers. Earproof in the NL custom made filters for me, and I'm very happy with them.

The also do monitors, but I have no idea how good they are - but I'd be curious to know ;-)

I guess they may even agree to just do the imprints alone for you at a small cost even if you decide to purchase a product somewhere else.

You could try Alpine, they made me some pretty nice plugs with filter for use on motorbikes etc.

I'll be there the 18th!

Have a fun guys/girls!

The only question that remains are

1) what time
2) the adress
3) except for the head-fi goodies, what more to bring
post #208 of 260
I agree with Jelle. I need some more info apart from the date by now.

Apart from Head-fi stuff, I will probably bring a modded DS and PSP...

Also, will there be an internet (wifi?) connection available?

So... Where exactly is it? in Amsterdam right? What time?
And maybe even more importantly, what gear will we see sunday?

I can bring:
Macbook/Duet with about 100GB of lossless music, with BJC interconnect.
Graham Slee Solo
HD650/SR325i/ES7/ESW10/K271S

I think it fits in a decent sized backpack...

And I do hope the HD800 makes it to the Hans meeting

Alright guys, here it goes!

First and foremost; Sorry for not being more communicative. I've been pretty busy with both school and holidays but that's no excuse for not popping in here earlier with more information.

Date, time, and adress.

Sunday, January 18th.
Everyone is welcome from 11:00 AM till about 17:00-18:00 PM.

The adress:
Sportveldweg 35
2151 CA
Nieuw Vennep

If you want my cellphone number, please PM me.

What to bring and what will be there.

Bring enough power cords and splitters for your own gear!
I do have some, but not many. I also don't have many tables, but I think we can all just spread around the house and make do with what's there.

Food and drinks.... if you want specifically want something, please bring it. I'll take care of a simple lunch and drinks. If anyone feels like bringing some beer, you're most welcome! I think I'll have a crate or two, but not much more and no specialty beers (those are all miiiiiiine! ).

If you have some LP's that you want to hear, bring em along! My turntable does however not like warped records as there is minimal clearance between the record and the headshell, and I have no clamp to flatten them.

I do have a router with a couple extra ports. I don't have extra network cables though, and no wifi (yet). I can see if I can get a wireless modem from somewhere before the meet, but I'm not sure.

If you are coming, please PM me to let me know.
Please also let me know if you're bringing friends or other people, and what gear you are taking. I can make a list of the gear that will be there and have it online before the meet.

I think that's most of the important information. Off to answer PM's now.
If you have any other questions just shoot me a PM or drop them in here. I'll be on much more often during this week than before.

Can't wait to see all of you (again)!
