Money is tight so I am selling one of my favorite things
My Bel Canto DAC3. I bought it in January of 2008 and I have kept in mint condition. I haven't used it quite as much as I'd like because an amp builder (who shall remain nameless at this point) never supplied me with the Balanced amp I was promised and I essentially bought the DAC3 to use it with.
But the sound of the DAC3 is incredible and I use it with my Raptor by RSA and a pair of R10s.
What I noticed about the DAC3 right off the back is that it is about as flat as I've heard in a DAC. The bass is tight and the treble is never harsh.
The main objective of selling this DAC is that money is so tight for me right now that since I don't have a balanced amp, I figured I would sell this very expensive DAC (which cost me $2500), and buy a DAC for single ended usage at less than half the price.
My asking price is $1400 plus shipping or Best Offer.
My feedback is 100% positive.
P.S. Photos will be added very soon.
EDIT: Additional information about the Bel Canto DAC 3....
It supports USB, Coaxial and Optical. It supports balanced and RCA. It comes with a remote and has a volume knob which is often very handy. From my experience it has a completely black background....and while it is certainly not limited to classical music, I find that it is the best DAC for classical music which I've ever heard and that includes DACs which are 3 times the price.
The package includes the DAC, remote, manual, power cable, and box all in pristine 10/10 condition.
Thanks for looking
