Best amps for AKG K1000?

Any suggestions? What I have just doesn't have enough power to do these cans justice.

I read that it pairs well with Wooaudio5

Enough Power?

Are a pair of 2A3 or 300B monoblocs enough to drive the K1K? I have a pair of each in storage and am curious regarding power before I go dig them up and hook things up. When you're old you get a little lazy.

b22, a lot of headfiers are using them as K1000 amplification, me being one of them

The recent Millet amp probably is a contender for one of the best amps for the K1000. Haven't heard it yet though. The other amps mentioned above sound like great picks too. If you are into huge power supplies like me, the Woo 5 would be a nice choice brotha.

I highly recommend the Red Wine Audio Signature 30.2.
Its not the most powerful amplifier out there, but imo a really nice match for the K1000. Warm sound signature, virtually noise free, relative small form factor, ...

Go get one!

I would definitely try the 300B amps with it before buying something. The Cary 300SEI has gotten a lot of good comments with the K1000s...

The best amps for the K1000 are the ones that are made for speakers. This is what is recommended in the manual and with a decent speaker amp they do very, very well.

I've used $500 speaker amps and also amps that were $1500 and up made for headphones that could power the K1000. I would definitely go with a amp that is meant to power speakers.

I used a Jolida 1501RC tube hybrid amp and they absolutely sounded great. Power really is the key for this headphone.

Also, I would try and use the monoblocs first since you already have them.

Hard part is that you have so many choices since there are so many power amps. I use them with a 300b SET amp and it's on of the best combinations you can get IMO if you like the k1000 sound.
Of those generally mentioned, I'd recommend the woo5 since it provides one of the best headphone amps out there as well.

Those should be fine. The K-1000 was engineered to be driven by speaker amps, not by amps designed to drive (relatively) easy to drive headphones.

I mostly have used the K-1000 connected directly to a Conrad-Johnson MV-52. The K-1000 manual calls for about 8W of power for it, so your 300B monoblocks should be just about right.

According to the description on the Darkvoice web site, the dv337 was designed using k1k as the target headphones...
