Ipod Classic 6 generation vs 4 generation Nano

My 5.5g ipod dying and looking to replace it. Does anyone have feedback about SQ of the new nano vs the new classic. I currently have about 7 GB of audio on my old ipod and thinking I could get by with the smaller player. Though I have found that I can get an 80gb classic for about the same price as a 16gb Nano.

I know ipods are not the favorite around here but I do a a fair amount of Itunes purchased audio that I don't want to repurchase right now.

For my ears and music (rock/metal) I find that the lineout of the two players is identical (I can't tell the difference)

The headphone out of the 4G nano is cleaner and has a better bass response than my 6G classic.

SQ wise, if you are going to use the Headphone out I'd say the 4G nano is your best option. If you plan to use the lineout then just take whichever player suits your needs best.

Good luck

Thanks Paul,

I am assuming when you refer to lineout, you are talking about using it with a amp?
