Hey,

Does anybody know how to create playlist using WMP 11 and sony 729. If i add albums and then create playlists outside in WMP 11 and move the playlist it moves a duplicate copy of the Mp3. It is driving me nuts . Any ideas

Thanks

Hello
I'm confused... see?

Do you mean you get 2 of each song on your 729 when you transfer a playlist? Or do you see a message that says: 'Already on device'? I just make mine (on the A829), by selecting ' Create Playlist' in WMP, renaming it, then dragging over the tracks I want - and finally dragging the playlist to the 'Sync' panel in WMP and selecting 'Start Sync'. I don't have any duplicates on mine at all. But of course, you talked about creating them 'outside in WMP', so maybe I missed your point altogether

Ok sorry i should have been bit clear.

I have music on external hard drive and some on the My laptop. So if i copy an album from the external hard drive into 729 using WMP 11 and then i have a copy of the same album and some other Mp3s on my laptop and make a playlist using WMP 11. It moves a duplicate copy of the album i had loaded before ( Like two copies of the same song). Your response got me thinking. I will try and create playlist in the external drive and see if it moves duplicates

So no Sony player has an on the go type of playlist? I couldn't believe it when I bought mine. I LOVE the sound quality, though. I don't know what to do, but on the go playlists are great for the way I listen to music.

The prob is you syncing from different sources, and the Sony player treats them as completely different files. If you create a playlist on another comp, and it contains the same songs on the player, it WILL double-sync the tracks. Each comp has different individual sigs, and this is translated to a sig in the tunes, or a very slight difference in the tags. Try syncing from 1 source, or not syncing the same tunes, but from different sources. Too big a headache in the long run.
