x3 smily_headphones1.gif Sorry to revive the thread, I needed to show my thanks to WASAPI. No more annoying glitches, for example with direct sound when I plugin or out the power cable of my laptop it glicthes, with WASAPI it doesn't, I have tested like 10 times in both case, scientific fact, but it is like magic.

I have to say it's hard to differentiate between Directsound and Wasapi on my Xonar STX. It's as if there was a bit more definition noticeable in the treble end, but it could just be placebo.

This is one of the sillier threads I have seen.

 

There is no doubt that WASPI out performs direct sound.

 

Zero glitches and slightly better sound quality.

 

Even if the sound quality was exactly the same the zero glitches makes it the only choice to me.
