So sad. He was one of my favorite authors even before he went Hollywood. I even read his very first novel "A Case of Need" which he wrote under a pseudonym.

Holy smokes...

Sphere was the first real, grown-up novel I read, I think. It's still one of my favourite sci-fi works of all time.

Rest in peace.

Damnit, why are all of my favorite famous people dying of cancer in their sixties? First Richard Wright and now Michael Crichton.

Wait Wright died? How did I miss that? Man I had held out hope for a Floyd reunion for the last 17 years.

This is a sad day for avid readers everywhere.

Crichton was one of the greats. I've read everything he's written and enjoyed most of them tremendously.

Agreed synaesthetic. I've read every book he has written and loved them all. I usually got them given to me as christmas presents when he would release a new one and I was thinking it was about time for him to release one then I heard this news on NPR at work today. Killed the rest of my day
