You are such a tease

Vert, I agree with you. SACDs will blow your mind. I've been buying SACDs like a mad dog-listening on a 775 but I like the sound so much that I decided to step up. My SCD-C555ES is due to arrive Wednesday!

BTW, anyone heard about the SONY SCD-C222ES?

Yes, I ran across the 222 in my research and even considered it...it goes for around $400 new I believe, has multichannel, but is a bit less sturdy than the 333 and not as many good parts internally. It's also missing the motorized faceplate on the 333 and 555. It's basically a slightly tuned over SCD-CE775.

So you got the 555 right?

LOL, I'm having lot's of fun tweaking everybody's noses.

But, seriously, if you don't already know what I got with that hint I gave, you don't deserve to know. Cause that hint was a dead giveaway.

Sony is good
Hmm...

Vert, all of Sony's multi-channel players have the "blue light". The field only narrows if you're speaking of the ES line only.

This should be in the "Other Technologies and Format Discussions" forum.

Easy, Vert got the 9000.

I just read about the E9000ES. Man, that's an awesome machine!

Good job

Well about time somebody guessed it. RickG, yes that is true...but if you think about it, of all of Sony's SACD players, the 9000ES is the only player where a "blue light" is an outstanding feature. In fact it'd be one of the ways you recognize the player as the 9000 amongst a display of many CDPs, it has a very bright diamond shaped blue light along with its ultra slim loading tray slot. It is the only SACD player that turns on the blue light in all play modes, and, well, the blue light is just *huge*. I've also dropped quite a number of hints in the past week that I was very likely to get the 9000...add it all up and well...9000ES it is!

This player just ROCKS right out of the box...can't wait till it's burned in. No more bitching and moaning from me about CDPs. And no more bitching and moaning from everybody else about my source!

Vertigo-1: Did you audition any of the new Sony DVD/SACD players when shopping for the 9000ES? I'm looking into the DVP-NS900, so any comments would be useful.
