They say that a picture can paint a thousand words, and Yikes certainly does.

Jahn, who wears the pants in your family? You are the master of your own domain. You are the King.
That, and you're bigger than her. Unless she holds the key to your trust fund, get your arse on the train and get there!

We miss you, man.

She holds the "key" to another, all-important "door". 'Nuff said.

Sorry you can't make it Jahn. If it makes any difference to you, I'm more than willing to pick you up at the Harrison train station. Leave the gear at home, hop on the Metro North at GCT, hang out for a couple of hours and head home; I'll drive you back to the station.

I received the Valvecode prototype yesterday along with the LISA III and finally got it hooked up tonight. WOW! The Valvecode is pretty sweet. Now take it with a grain of salt since I'm a low budget solid state kind of guy, but this thing sounds fantastic from the Ack dAck with my recabled SA-5000s. I always knew there was a good headphone in there somewhere.

You know how the SA-5000 is super detailed but can be sometimes bright and fatiguing? It ain't anymore. There is some real synergy going on here. I first had the Markl Modded Denon D5000s hooked up. It sounded good but it was a bit thick sounding. Kind of bass heavy and a bit wooly. Switched to the Sonys and it just sounds so natural.

This is going to be a great meet!

Indeed it will! Thankfully it looks like fate smiled upon us, and the weather is going to be nice this Saturday. This will be just the escape I need from my final on Friday!

Can't wait!

Not sure that's the case with James, but if any mate held that key to that door over my head, they wouldn't be my mate for long. That's mutiny!

There's got to be some set of moralistic rules, otherwise, it's just anarchy

Gear list updated. Might do it one more time Friday night.

I have about 20 name tags, no more. The count is at 37. Guess we're past our prime. Almost had 100 that one time.

When did we have 100? I must have missed that one.

37 is a pretty respectable number. How many other local/regional meets draw 37?

Still trying to figure out my gear. I have to bring the LISA III and the Valvecode. I had the LISA III hooked up to my main source last night and it sounded excellent. I'm listening to it now from the Headroom Overture and after spending the last hour with the Valvecode it's just not doing it for me. I need to figure out a better source. I can try using the the Predator's DAC instead or I can try running it straight from my transport's RCA outs. I'll have to try both and see which works better. The Overture is just not cutting it.

I tried using the Predator as a source and feeding that into the LISA III. That sounds much better than the Overture. Still I wonder if I'm compromising, or at least flavoring the sound of the LISA III with the amp section of the Predator.

The answer is clearly have the meet at Jahn's place again so he don't have to go anywhere. LOL. We'll miss you buddy.
