I went to put the deposit down earlier this evening. I think we're all set. We're going to have 8 8 foot tables set up. That's 64 feet worth of tabletop. Plus there are about 16 outlets. I asked about the electrical service and they have a group that displays all kinds of medical equipment so there should be plenty of amperage.
The only "bad" thing was that he did have to charge me $400 and not $300, but still I think it's a good deal.
There are a couple of ground rules though.
Doors will open at 11 so feel free to come then.
The place has its own liquor license so we cannot bring in our own liquor. It is against the law. I know that we're there for the music but we have been known to imbibe upon ocassion. As such, I pressed him on it a little and he said, "well, if you put it in a flask, how am I going to know?" So if anyone wants to bring a little something something for apres-meet it will have to be extremely discreet.
Doors will have to close promptly at 6. That means packed up and out the door at 6. Not only that but I will have to leave immediately following the meet so there really will be no hanging around the hall. I had hoped to try and hang out for a little post-meet bread-breaking but my boss invited me to his Christmas party and I can't turn him down. At least, not without consequence.
