Great! We can build a faraday cage around you guys so we don't all get microwaved.

Or maybe it's not that dangerous for some of you

wasn't sure if you were bringing your GES. if so, then yeah.

all the stats on one table (or common area) would be cool.

Erik - Do you have an idea how many tables & outlets the room can handle in total?

We seem to have a lot of vendors scheduled (which is great), and was wondering how much space will be left for member's gear?

^^ that's a good question. the turn out looks especially high. a good thing, but space may be an issue.

I'm going to take a last look at the room tonight and finalize the paperwork.

I think I counted 8 or 10 outlets with two receptecals each. They are are two or three on each wall, at least. I think we will have enough power although we will definitely need power strips and extension cords, as usual.

The place has a combination of long and round tables. Ideally we would want to use all long tables but we may need to utilize some of the round ones. My thinking is that we'll place the vendors on long tables near the wall and have the members towards the middle of the room, possibly at round tables. While not ideal, the round tops should work out fine. I will get an actual table count this evening.

In terms of actual space that is not going to be an issue. This room is bigger than the Legion Hall on Long Island, if memory serves me correctly.

I went to put the deposit down earlier this evening. I think we're all set. We're going to have 8 8 foot tables set up. That's 64 feet worth of tabletop. Plus there are about 16 outlets. I asked about the electrical service and they have a group that displays all kinds of medical equipment so there should be plenty of amperage.

The only "bad" thing was that he did have to charge me $400 and not $300, but still I think it's a good deal.

There are a couple of ground rules though.

Doors will open at 11 so feel free to come then.

The place has its own liquor license so we cannot bring in our own liquor. It is against the law. I know that we're there for the music but we have been known to imbibe upon ocassion. As such, I pressed him on it a little and he said, "well, if you put it in a flask, how am I going to know?" So if anyone wants to bring a little something something for apres-meet it will have to be extremely discreet.

Doors will have to close promptly at 6. That means packed up and out the door at 6. Not only that but I will have to leave immediately following the meet so there really will be no hanging around the hall. I had hoped to try and hang out for a little post-meet bread-breaking but my boss invited me to his Christmas party and I can't turn him down. At least, not without consequence.

Well done Erik. Sounds like the foundation for an excellent meet.

11-6 including setup and tear-down, hardly seems worthwhile
