Sansa Clip with bad SQ? - Page 2

THis thread is kind of confusing.
I always read that the clip sounds neutral and i'm buying it soon too.

@shauntell can you power the re-1s to decent volume without the amp to decent volumes?

I said the iriver is not "very" warm which is what you first said it was, this post has cleared that up with you changing the word very for slight, which is more in line with the irivers sound signature.

But there is no way you can call the clip dark, and say that the iriver isn't.
Can we agree on that? (anyone?)
I never commented on the clips sound signature other than to say the sq from the clip is really rather good, when you take the cost into consideration its exceptional.

My H120 sounds like crap to me straight out of the headphones.
I have compared by H120 optical out to D1 DAC/AMP vs. 4GB Sansa Clip headphone out using both my ER-4S and Shure E500's.
Net is that I couldn't tell the difference - the Sansa Clip sounds fantastic straight into my earphones. So I use my Clip a lot since it's so small and convenient. I still also use my H120 with DAC/amp because 1) It holds more music files 2) I paid all this money for my bigger H120/DAC-AMP setup and hate to not use it. 3) Even though I don't think I can tell a difference - there must be a difference!
Still trying to find that difference. Either I have crappy ears, or the Sansa Clip is that good.
