Could that bad for it?Sounds like a bunch of BS to me but let me know if this works burtomr.

You can download brown noise (or brownian noise if you want) here:
http://www.realmofexcursion.com/downloads.htm
As you listen to the files you will notice that brown noise is way deeper, more like lower mids and bass, while white noise is very, very bright.
If there is some kind of burn in happening with the mids and bass, then brown noise could accelerate it.
At least this is my impression since my IE8 are pretty new (<200 h).
I cant tell what the best volume would be. I played it for 8 hours straight with a little above listening volume. The phones still work!

So I was reading the fb page of sennheiser north america and someone asked the difference between the ie8 and ie80 and sennheiser replied back saying it was only aesthetical. Hmmm?

I was informed by SENN that they're similar in SQ, to which I asked if that meant they're not necessarily identical. I received no response.

Quote:ie2han we both know the answer as we answered that for ourselves. Let the trolls believe what they want ;). There is a clear difference when you compare the 2 stock. Now if you use EQ on the IE8 is really closes the gap. I still don't think they will sound 100% identical though even with EQ. EQ will only get you so far and with it comes added distortion to your music. So have fun lol. But it really doesn't hurt to EQ down. But EQ up and you induce distortion. I feel the IE8 would have to be EQ up as well to match the IE80.
post #7642 of 79091/9/12 at 9:57amIs IE80 considered a balanced IEM even though it is bass dominant and has mid bass hump?

Quote:Its more balanced. I wouldn't call it balanced because it is not. But its bass doesn't overpower its mid range or treble IMO. Its not a clarity monster like say the FX700 but its a very good IEM and with the right source will really show its true colors (Studio V).

Our friend DannyBai isn't trolling, he's merely bringing up an important point. As it stands, SENN has declared no real difference between the IE8 vs. IE80, where sound quality is concerned. Of the few that have heard the IE80, however (myself included), there DOES seem to be reasonably less of a midbass hump, one that's noticeable right out of the box, and one that I certainly don't find the need to EQ down.
@olear: they aren't perfectly balanced, being that they are intended to be bass oriented (after all, they have a dedicated bass tuner!), but the IE80 is closer in that regard, than is the IE8, as far as I'm concerned.

Sorry lol. I didn't read his post earlier but I was referring to comments made quite a bit earlier on in the IE80 thread saying its impossible for there to be any sound difference and that it is only in our overly-active-imaginations ;).Quote:Originally Posted by i2ehan

Thanks i2ehan!!
I definitely am not trolling since the ie8 is still in my collection and still love it. Never have heard the ie80 but the comment I made earlier was something I just stumbled upon out of the blue so I decided to post because I found it interesting.

Quote:Sorry DannyBai I wasn't referring to you. I actually skipped over your comment and didn't read it till recently. You of course have a reason to be weary. But put it this way most of the IE80 owners have confirmed a clear difference between the 2 stock. I for one wouldn't make this **** up and I am glad that I am hearing the IE80s as I do. :)

Would you consider FXT90, EX1000 balanced?post #7649 of 79091/9/12 at 10:51amAlso, FX700 balanced? I ask because on the ABI site, FX700 is labeled as a bass monster.
In terms of signature, balanced is a V shape and a balanced sound means there is no dominant frequency (at least within reason)?

The EX1000 would be closer to balanced but its treble pretty much takes it out of balanced as well. I would say the EX1000 is more balanced than the IE80 and FX700. Not sure about the FXT90 but from the sound of it it would also be on the bassy side as well. While I consider the EX1000 to be bass light but very much textured and deep.
