Yeah I burned them in... I ran pink noise overnight the first night, and I listened for 6-8 hours a day, for around 3 weeks (I can listen all day at work). I was always going to try the W3 when it came out, and to my ears they just better the IE8 overall- even after the IE8 is burned in.

yes, ill like to hear more about the trance with them as i am a gdjb and asot fan hugely. did you buy the progression album from markus? i am amazed as rarely have i heard an american dj who really knows trance. sweet dj he is

ie8 is still better than w3 because ie8 reveals the most details in a song after like 250 hours burn in

Which portable amp is a good match with IE8's?
I was thinking maybe the 3move or the P-51.

My IE8s sound superb with the iQube, iBasso D3 and P3 with Topkit.
I would be hard-pressed to choose a favorite between the 3. iQube probably edges the other out in neutrality and deep bass, whereas the D3 has the largest soundstage and is a bit brighter. The P3 falls about in-between.

If you can use a larger sized portable, the Decware Zenhead sounds really fine. The crossfeed implementation is the best I have heard in any amp.

I'm interested in iBasso D3 and already ordered IE8. I would appreciate if you could post more detailed impression of that combo. Thanks.

EDIT:Off topic, just saw that you have er4s too. Is iBasso D3 good combination with them too?

I like my IE8 paired with my SR-71A using Tysonic ultra-low discharge. The synergy is good and the amount of airiniess is just nice.

Yeah, the SR-71A is a really nice amp (as i heard) but since it would be my first portable amp i just can't justify the relatively high price of it yet. D3 fits my price range well for now and later i will probably move to something better like yours. Thanks anyway Darkkopi.

The D3 is worth for it's price the last time I tried it but did not manage to try it with the IE8 though, since I have yet to own it when I try

I wasn't planing to buy it for IE8, rather for ER4S (which i'm trying to buy for over a year now but i didn't know much about amps before) and PK1 since i want to make a little collection of iems and earbuds of my own and some of them require an amp. But if it can drive them (IE8) better than straight from an DAP only, which i hope, it's a plus.

Guys (IE8 owners) - how do you find the noise isolation of IE8? I got mine IE8 yesterday, and compared to ue sf5pro I have, the sound isolation is very different, IE8 let in much more noise. I have a good seal with medium double flanges, the bass is very nice and accurate, heavy and not muddy. But when on the street or on the tube, I can hear much more noise. Is there any way to rectify it? Will Comply T-400 that fit the cx senns (300, 400, 500) fit on IE8? I found that tips from my cx-300 fit on IE8 without problems.

Yes the comply tips do fit but i keep losing the seal every 2 minutes,not sure whether its the shape of the phones or not but it doesn't work for me.
The best iem ive heard,but let down by poor isolation.
Wish i hadn't bothered getting them now.

The IE8 is somehow not a fully closed IEM, so it does leaks in more sound no matter how good your seal is.

In my experience, not fully closed IEMs have much better soundstage, and i don't need total isolation.
