Umm, question again:
When I first unboxed the IE8's, the bass screw had some tiny clicks, some resistance to the plastic maybe? But now, the left screw seems to have no clicks, whilst the right has. Is this still ok?

I never had any 'clicks' on mine - That being said, mine are black, and recessed, yet on pictures i've seen, they are silver, and raised... I don't know which is the old version, and which is the new...

Mine is black and recessed... There are silver ones? :| I think the Black ones may be newer, silver seems to be in the shots used for marketing, and maybe the black is to make blend with the body? Well, the bass screw: Does yours have no clicks or anything, just a screw that can be moved to any point but with some resistence when turning?

Edit: Look at this pic Another point is that the wire base seems to be opaque, whilst the one I have is transluscent.

Exactly the same hire. Wires are grey. Wires base is transluscent. Silver sennheiser logo and black recessed bass screw. No clicks when turned. Just one continuous turn.

Oh good then, I thought mine may have been faulty or something. I have been using the Bose IE's before the IE8's and I think I am used to the sound signature of it, especially the bass so I cannot tell whether the bass changes. I have only been burning in for 34 hours, so I think that might make it change after a while. Not sure.

No they don't

None in stock

Not available to order.

You might get lucky when they do come back for order though. $223 is actually a typo and last time they forgot to switch the price back to what they normally sell them for ( $279) and a number of people here got them for that price.

35 hours burn in, and these have overtaken the Bose IE's in terms of clarity and soundstage. Very neutral, yet natural sound. Soundstage seems to widen gradually every 20 hours for me. Can't wait till they have fully burned in. And I actually understand what you people mean by speed, I can't exactly describe it though but I can hear it.

I have the Bose too but I felt immediatelity the more details and wider soundstage of the IE8, even just out the box!

My current issue is price. I'm working towards getting a new balanced set-up so dropping 2 or 3 bills on earphones is not exactly the wisest move. But then I don't have to tell any of you how strong a pull it is when something like this comes along and seems to be right up your alley.

I'm watching NCIXUS. I'll see if they pull the pricing switch again as has been reported earlier. If they do, I will just have to bite the bullet and be more patient. Till then, consider me a IE8 club member wannabe!

Oh - and Julie? You are a nut! I was laughing reading your adventure of owning them, suffering with them, selling them then owning them again!
Hey there, thanks for the mention Warrior. I agree that our sound sig tastes are very much on the same track. You sure steered me right with the Atrios. Likewise I think you'd really enjoy the IE8's, knowing your same preferences. I really hope that you find a good deal so that you can afford to pick them up. They're worth it. Bass that's 90% of the Atrios, but with the addition of truly stunning midrange, soundstage, and really good upper end detail. Comfort and build quality is also much better. I look forward to your impressions if/when you get them.

Since I know you also have the C700's I'll also compare them to those. The main thing you notice in going from the IE8's back to the C700's is how severely sucked out, or recessed, the midrange is. The soundstage is hugely better in the IE8's too. It's like you're going up to a full-sized can in that regard. Treble is about equal in ultimate detail, but I think the IE8's are less strident in comparison. Overall, they're sooooo much more refined. They just make music effortlessly.

Out of the box the I felt there was more detail, but not more soundstage imo.
