You ratbag, beat me to the post by like 5 minutes

Thank you all for attending, what was undoubtedly the best sydney meet so far. Thanks especially to qusp and stevenkelby for their generous donations and back-breaking cargo of awesome gear

Standouts in this meet for me were the K1000's (detail, soundstaging demons), balanced HD650 (extremely musical, imaging and detail much sharper than SE), and W11JPN (just excellent all round).

The Lisa 3's that Triad Audio were kind enough to send along for demo were also excellent, I'm going to have to do some serious research into them and see if the wallet can handle the damage.

Thanks as well to Headphonic for the support and demo stock

awesome meet indeed! It was a lot better than the previous meet, which was also very good

Stand out rigs for me were: Balanced HD600s out of Balanced M3 + CA 840c, K1000 + RWA Signature 30.2, HD600 + Opera + Benchmark Dac-1

Oh yea the raffle just made my day

Very big thank you to stevenkelby and qusp for the wonderful stuff they donated for the raffles as well as the gear they brought! Will post my many many impressions after nismohks posts the pictures.

First of all, i'd like to extend my thanks to Covenant for being such a KIND and GENEROUS organizer who once again hosted this headfi meet at his workplace. This meet truly was beyond my expectations of anything, with great atmosphere, fantastic bunch of guys (may there be gals in future? ) and excellent gear let alone a raffle to boot!

StevenKelby, qusp and certainly the kind and wonderful Uncle Wilson from Jaben are also a huge part of the success of this meet! The donation of their time and effort to create prizes for raffles (Steven and qusp for their wonderful LODs!) and the generosity on behalf of Uncle Wilson who provided so many prizes (SIX Mylarones, 2 amps, a headphone stand (sorry covenant :P) IBUDS, orange bags, IBUDFOAMS!) have all contributed to the great success of the gathering!

So please extend thanks to these guys in your posts, for they are the ones that made it happen!

ps. in other words, pamper the **** out of them so the next meet will be even GREATER!!

Happy listening!

Great meet, the best phone I tried today is the K1000 with the RWA Signature 30.2 and we should all thank Covenant for organising the meet.

Thank you all for bringing an amazing amount of gear, and thank you Covenant for organising the meet. It was great to meet such nice people.

My favourite of the day would have to be the Grado 325. I listened to them with the Lisa III XP and they sounded amazing, just the fun, engaging sound I'd like to get next, but I'll have to see about the cost... And whoever it was who had the giant Dell with Ubuntu hooked up to that rig, thank you for the great taste in music, you had pretty much every band on there that I wanted to try some Grados with

I also listened to them with the 414 pads and from my Millet Staving Student and they sounded more tame, less sparkle (probably from a combination of the flats and tubes), but still great.

I also enjoyed the D5000 which I listened through the Opera and DAC1. They were really nice and smooth, great rich, controlled bass but still detailed and sounded lovely with vocals. The D2000 and D1001 were too boomy and uncontrolled for my tastes, but the D5000 were spot on. And hot damn they were comfy!

The K701 sounded pretty dry but (as I have also read) were great with classical. I listened to Danse Macarbe (Saint Saens) on them and although I couldn't have them as my main cans, they definitely did that piece justice.

I didn't like the MS Pros as much as I had thought I would. They were pretty smooth and not quite what I was expecting. They were nice, but not what I'd be after, and not $1000 nice . I had similar thought about the AD2000, they didn't seem that special to retail for $1100. They did instrumental pretty nicely (I listened to My Friend The Chocolate Cake (if you don't know them, remember the Westpac ad that was running last year?)), metal sounded ok, but the mids seemed lacking; same with pop. They may not be suited well to that music, but I thought from what I'd read that they were meant to be a more forward can in the AT range and thus be better suited to metal and rock, but they didn't really appeal to me.

I didn't get to hear the K1000, perhaps another time.

And lastly, the ESW9/10 are damn sexy cans

Whoh, I might have some more thoughts and impressions later on... time now for some sleep.
