Ray - I'd like to reserve a P-51 in black as the first step back to improved music fidelity.

Hi to All, first posting on Head-Fi. Just happened to tumble to this site while looking to improve my audio. Have been out of the hifi scene for a millenium. So many cool developments especially the headphone amps. Really not happy with Ipod-quality music although it is an incredible machine. Welcome any suggestions/pointers/advice to improve same.

I like all sorts of music and have just bought a bunch of $5 Jazz CD's from CD Baby. Also looking for a Discman to play them - welcome rec's on that as well.

ALO is advertising New Old Stock Sony CD25s which is supposed to be one of the singular designs in this category. I thought about getting one myself but I have a feeling it will end up mostly unused...

I would guess when we are all notified in early December, we can make our color choice then. Ray mentioned in his post that some colors may not yet be available. I heard the upcharge is $25 for anything other than black.

I'm still amazed he can design such a product in a 2"x2"x.75" (estimate) box. Can't wait to get mine!

Thanks for the tip - I will check it out. I saw some DNE-10's available as well. Will do some comparisons between the two. I hear ya on the unused part ... otoh, I have so many good cd's I have not burned etc and want to try again.

As for FedEx extended service area issue, I posted Japanese translation on my weblog. I even called Japanese FedEx customer service and confirmed this.

Music TO GO!: FedEx shipping charge

Here is a copy.

通常の日本へのFedexによる送料は$45ですが、Extended service areaと呼ばれる一部地域については追加で料金が発生するということです。
日本のFedexのカスタマーサービスに問い合わせてこの件について聞いてみました。答えは通常Fedex がカバーできるエリアをなんらかの理由で日通航空に引き渡すときには追加料金はかからないけれども、fed exがもともとカバーしていないエリアにたいしては追加料金が発生するとのことです。
そのカバーできないエリアに関しては通常大都市圏はカバーしているが、基本的にはケースバイケースで問い合 わせるしかない、ということです。
