Well, how's it sounding, John? Man, can't wait until I get mine (looking like Friday). That volume knob has got to go. Actually, though it looks like a cheap plastic knob it does say in their literature it is aluminum, is that right, John? Not a huge fan of this textured powder coat myself, although it is all aluminum, but it's simplicity and solid look makes up for it I think.

OK..its hooked up to my Pioneer 563A player with a short run of Outlaws. Got the Senn590s plugged in and on my ears. The Senns have had over 175 hours of continual play burn in.

I don't plan on being critical about this amp for at least 100-200 hours of burnin and listening. Initial impressions are what I expected. I have been listening for about an hour and a half out of the box and so far so good...the bass needs expansion and more presence but it is there. I am trusting the overall sound opens up considerably over the burn-in period...on music with many instruments it's congested right now as expected...not as transparent sounding as my Denon.

However, I have some acoustic guitar on now that sounds remarkable.

Build is excellent...all metal..the fabric wrap was a nice touch. The tiny volume knob is actually machined aluminum according to the manual...but it feels like plastic and does look dinky.

Please don't forget to compare it with the Cordas, OK???? I'm dying of a cheaper winner, otherwise I have no other choice and get the HA-2 at the very least in the next sale....

You should just save up and go for the Emmeline and end your problems. Hopefully I can help you out a little too, you once owned the MG Head (which I own now) and of course we both owned the Gilmore V2.

I sure will..but remember...it will be from memory rather than direct comparison. I also am using new cans...the Senn 590s. As well as a new source without upsampling, the Pioneer 563A.

I'm not 100% sure that my problem will end with the Emmeline, I have never heard it, and nobody had told me that it is a good match for the CD3000. It could be a good offer, but some members agree with me, in that it is very good priced (IOHO), but if I get a used one, for some less, that I could afford, I will jump on it, but honestly for that price I prefer to get the Prehead, right now there is a sale going for about this price, it has more features, three levels of crossfeed, and some other members had tried it, and love it paired with the CD3000.............the CD3000 is a most until I could get a better can (maybe HD650 and Cardas...LOL)

Sovkiller, The Singlepower amp I have now with the CD-3000 made me retire the HD600/cardas. Something I would have thought could never happen. The MPX3 even with the VT-231 sylvania tubes would be in the same range as the Prehead. There must be someone out there using this pr. together.
John, just wait until my CD-3000 get there on there way back here and give them a listen for awhile.
