Did Sony at least "fix" their lack of lossless support other than wav (which sounds very good & the only reason I still carry my A829 in the bag with my other players) that at least would be a step in the right direction. I don't mean to be rude but please don't try to convince me of how good 320kbps files sound. Every so often I will temporarily put a CD on my Sony at this rate & listen to it for a couple days just to see if I can enjoy it nearly as much as my lossless files & it's always a no go for me. I actually think flash players might be mechanically better for the reason they are not mechanical. When the flash players get to 64g or better w/ more lossless options I'm back in.
Not better than touch 2g

there is no gapless, except WAV, and no support for FLAC or any other compressing lossless codec. That is, sound is amazing and unit is instant On - meaning that you press play and it resumes playback of last track within a split second!

^ I don't know why Sony takes so damn long to release the 16 gig models here in the U.S.? Hell with the consumerism of this Country, I sure wouldn't drag my behind releasing larger capacity models. Especially with the competition doing just that. Iaudio 7 16 gig is so cheap right now on amazon. Must resist..............

Is there a difference, SQ wise, between the A729 (16GB) and the new S players? Was the DAC or any other segment related to SQ upgraded? It seems that aside from clear bass noting changed.

Personally I prefer the A series size. For me the best will be a new A Series player with 32GB or even better 64GB...

I agree w/you on this, plus they need to put an FM tuner in it also. The customizable wallpaper and themes will probably be standard now anyways. An A Series player w/the new features & larger capacity = perfection!!!

That's fit S630/S730 series to a "T" bro. Dont hesitate to sell your A820

Is it UMS and MTP or MTP with no ums?

If not mistaken, MTP on Windows, UMS on Macs.
