You can port Rockbox on Fuze now, but it is still not fully functional.

Wouldn't rockboxing the Fuze = a backwards step?

Not if it has gapless and suports line out dock.

I'm pretty content with SanDisk's firmware... The only rockbox I've played around with was the e200 series and although there are a lot of options, I feel like the GUI is a bit bland.

The current firmware already supports line-out through dock.

I have a question does the Sansa Fuze SQ is better than E260 v2. I have the E200 series witch sounds good but in my opinion it has not enought bass. My current earplugs are Sennheiser MX560, Creative EP-630 and Fiio E3 amp. Please help and sorry for my English.

I think the Fuze is better than the e200 series. I have an e260 v1. I forgot what the exact differences were since it has been a long time since I've used my e260. All I remember is that the Fuze doesn't hiss like the e260 and the music sounds more pleasing to my ears.

Clie is right, and if IRC the line out dock feature was supported from the very beginning... although there is little reason for using a line out over the headphone jack unless you're using an actual "Dock".

I continue to feel that the descriptions of increased SQ over the headphone out jack have been overly optimistic and border on placebo effect. The supposed improvements in signal to noise ratio and THD are only fractions of a percent better at best, because both the signals are generated digitally from the same chip (PM SansaFix for the exact numbers) and are probably unnoticeable after passing through the friction plug connection, the solder joints, the caps and resistors of a line out docking cable and then the electronics of a portable amp. YMMV

I suppose I didn't phrase my question correctly:

What I meant was that Rockbox (hopefully) has line out dock abilities, along with gapless support.

Not to bash up the stock firmware, but gapless would be nice, and assuming that Rockbox has gapless, I would go for that. Line out dock would be a nice bonus with Rockbox too.

If the line out dock doesn't really do anything worthwhile, then just gapless would be nice. I don't really use the radio, photo, and video functions of the Fuze, so if Rockbox doesn't have that, then I'm fine with that.

I don't mean to cause any friction, but I guess my ten word response could be taken in a way that I didn't mean.

That's OK Planar, don't worry about it, the stock software keeps changing anyway....

I never understood the big deal about gapless playback, maybe you could elaborate.

I know what it is, (duh), but why do you need it... a disco mix or something like that???

Abbey Road has some sections that are gapless...

Tommy has gaplessness...

I suppose I could just make all the files one, but that makes it kinda strange. I like have the ability to get to different tracks when I need it, but have the files play without gaps when I want it.
