After talking a little about it with Grahame, I have downloaded and started playing with MusicIP and think it is a cool thing. The basic idea is that MusicIP scans all your digital music files, and then can create instant playlists based on your selection of one or more songs. It does not just use genres but does a more in-depth analysis of songs and styles and moods of music you have and compares it to data already built into the program. You can also select moods you want to emphasize, etc. It is a cool program that Tyll has been interested in for awhile and it is referenced in the HeadRoom audiophile desktop articles on their site.
