Audio-Technica's First Triple-Driver IEM: ATH-CK100 - Page 7

the price is considerably lower in japan: to the tune of 200$ or so lower depending where you go.

coming from ck10 (on sale now) i would say versus w3 etc: these will definately be much a much stronger build - not plastic, not cheap in anything at all. at make their new headphones with such an art of construction that makes other manufacturers seem dull and cheap by comparison

Shigzeo,
Do you think you can paraphrase some of the reviews you've seen in Japanese? I sure would like to know at least some general descriptions of the sound signature and all......

Thanks in advance!

Hmm, I'm getting interested in this IEM. I might get these instead of APS-Ety's.

X2 on the reviews, a general description of the sound signature would be nice.

yeah, i meant to translate some of them before but never did eh? i will do that but it will have to be after this week is over. they are however great and compare many many earphones all at once. japanese headphone lovers seem to be a bit less fan-boy based so it is easy to read through their opinions

Excellent... thanks for doing this. I look forward to seeing some real-world impressions.

I'm just wondering, but has anyone on Head-fi bought the CK-100? Bluetin is selling them for $433, which is almost the price of the W3.

I'm also looking forward to some impressions

honestly as a ck10 user and former um2 which to all pragmatic use is similar to w3 construction, there is no chance any universal company can match at for build quality. titanium too is the hardest and most expensive metal to work with, does not corrode and looks great. it is light and durable. i would not even compare the westone 3 with them - it is like comparing a nicely tuned prelude to a beautiful bmw.

im not sure which sound you may like better but the bmw was designed, not thought up. it comes from iteration and iterations of cars and generations, not just a space age sudden design flip.

some people will like one or the other better for sound but certainly, for construction, the only thing westone can accept accolades for is the headphone jack connect (square versus straight); theirs is the best in the business (.) <-- fullstop!

** in other words, i would wonder why westone charge so much for a plastic bulbous iem that is huge.

yay!! Just asked my friend to help buy me a pair of these babies from Japan. Should arrive in a week or two. Cant wait!!

Sieg, u can just get from Bluetin.com for around RM1.6K. How much u pay for it?
Exactly RM1.6k shipping included
About the same shipped from Bluetin.com to Malaysia, including hand carry to JB charge

I tried to find reviews for it but mostly in Japanese. Sherwood still not yet translate it ><

Well I decided on this because I love the Audio Technica's sound and all the reviews from kakaku, it's so damn tempting after I read their reviews

There's also a comparison between Westone 3, Triple Fi and CK100 in AV Watch, written in Japanese too.

Agreed. The price is obscene.
