X2, I will put my pair for sale once I received my JH13.

Yep. The 13's are that good. I was listening for a while the other day and the 10's are fun and good but if you can go to the concert why stay home? :^)

I'm not selling my ESW10's any time soon.

They have a really pleasing sound that is somehow very addictive.

And I can share them!

Yeah, not selling mine either.

I'll be keeping mine. My only issue is that I'm such a freak about keeping nice stuff nice, that I only use them in my bedroom, after my 4 year old goes to bed, and before my lovely wife joins me. I get an hour or so a couple of nights a week. Then I put them away in their HPP-5 case until next time. Amazingly, I'm not a neurotic neatnik - our house is generally destroyed. Of course, a 4 year old will do that for you... Anyway, I love my ESW10's. Forgiving, musical, easily driven, musical...

I'm still keeping mine alongside the JH-13's... for the girlfriend, for me when I have to hear outside noises and because they look damn good just hanging on my headphone stand

I still can't convince myself to blow $1k on a pair of IEMs instead of a new source. So I guess my pair is staying.

Am I really missing something here?

Yes, I have to watchout for my 2 year old and 3.5 year old too. I use it at work mostly.

Am doing a nice listening session with my ESW-10's. I am listening to Gene Ammons - "Boss Tenor". For anyone that likes real jazz, this is top notch quartet music and the recording is stellar!

Anyway, I now notice that the metal adjustable bands that attach to the ear cups and go up into the headband are corroding. They are a purplish blue.

Anyone else notice this? I got them at the AudioCubes store in Manhattan when they first became available in the U.S., and Kohn is an authorized dealer, so I doubt they are fake.

I will have to check my 9's and see if they have the same disability.

Wow, immtbiker, you're right. The part of the headband that's been exposed to the air has turned a darker color when I extend the headband and compare.

Bogus.

It certainly doesn't seem to be getting any weaker or anything...
It's probably oil on the metal giving off the colour, use your breath to put warm air over the part and wipe with your shirt/cloth or something... should go back to normal
post #1529 of 1673
Probably just oxidation. Nothing to worry about (other then asthetics)
It is oxidation...comes off with Simichrome.

But, why? Other headphones don't have this issue.
