I don't have those to compare to, but after 5 days with these just purchased ESW10JPNs on my head, I must concur that they are indeed my current favorite set of cans. Any idea what they are now going for? Anyways, this is my firstever pair of Audio Technicas, and I think I chose wisely.

What sucks is that as they go up in value over the years we wont be able to capitalize on that, because we like them too much to sell. The HF-2 will be another one on that list of "no longer for sale and price goes up but we wanna keep them and listen to 'em" kinda phones...

Listening to them is the point, though!

I've been listening to mine a bit more lately as I'm midway through a recable on my HFI 780's, and I don't get stuff like that done very quickly.

My theory is that if I have 2 or 3 pairs of cans, each one gets a bit less use, and lasts longer...

Yes.. return/sell the ESW9's and grab the 10's.. now

also pfillion has a pair of ESW10's for sale for canadians only, may be a better deal to you

Gawd..do I LOVE these headphones! Check my signature - I keep coming back to these phenomenal cans - combined with my LD MK III and a proper source they are mind-blowing.
