Limited, wooden portable ATH-ESW10JPN arrives! (with pics) - Page 98

I would definitely take a pair, but couldn't pay 1300 thats huge money at once with no idea of sound.

I agree. As much as I love my ESW10, my UE11 are better in sq, immersion, isolation, comfort, and pretty much everything else I can think of right now.

The JH-13 has also piqued my interest, so my set is on its way. I really wasn't going to invest in another high end IEM, but honestly with even the Edition 9 in the collection, I find myself preferring the UE11 over anything. It sounds like the JH-13 will best the UE11 significantly, and even give top shelfers like HD800 a run for their money.

Customs are just the perfect match of SQ, comfort, and portability... and of course don't forget how easy they are to drive!

I guess I will never know if customs are that good... Giving HD800 a run for their money sounds a bit too far fetched to me.

You should see which people exactly are saying that, then you'll think again.

@Bojamijams: I'm sure it's pretty difficult to actually draw parallels between a custom and the HD800 as they are quite different, but in fact Jude mentioned to me that he felt there wasn't much difference in fidelity between them and the JH-13. Of course the Senn gives you openness, which has an affect on the sound, but the JH-13 was said to have great air and soundstage anyway. Jude was pretty well blown away by these new IEMs at CanJam.

But I suppose I would wait until someone like Jude owns both for some time before really putting weight behind such statements...

Whoa sorry to fall off topic there.

If they turn out that sexy I might. Only IEMS Ive heard are Shure E3G so Im curious how different they would sound.

Well - the ATH-ESW10JPN's came in today, and despite a ludicrous $75 brokerage/customs fee which put final cost of these new (only 1 hour of headtime) at $360. I'm a relatively new head-fier with limited headphone exposure, but I must admit that I am in awe of the SQ these present. They certainly live up to the many positive reviews I've read and even exceed my expectations. These ARE keepers - a great first introduction for me to Audio Technica's, an exceptional headphone whose sound signature lies somewhere between top of the line Grados and Sennheisers. Oh, and they are absolutely gorgeous.

Yep AT is one of those companies that just makes pieces of art to wear on your head . How do you find them to sound? I always thought they were a bit on the bright side but nothing too much. Had it not been for the fact I always use iem's on the go and speakers or full size cans at home I would probably still have a pair myself.

The sound signature for me is perfect, the only thing lacking is bass impact and a little more upper sparkle that comes from open cans. If they had that bass impact like denons I would be a truly happy man, that is why I fear L3000 is what my body needs, and that is insane money for a used product.

I think he has but his pricing is ridiculous. I can almost get 2 pairs for the price he is charging.

They usually 'bundle' things together.. you sure his price (whatever it is) is just for the headphones?

I emailed him regarding the ESW10JPN. Unless he typoed on the USD vs SGD the price he is charging is not reasonable. I replied to his last email in regards to that and I hope he meant SGD instead of USD. At least we would be back down to a reasonable amount.

I got my pair with the HPP5 case for $527USD shipped from jithk btw. And I think most people paid <$600 USD for theirs. I would not expect prices to jump 70% in one month, even if they sold out.

I just got email confirmation from Wilson that the price was in fact USD, at least 75% more than what I paid with the case for just the headphones
