When I heard the Denon D7000 today, changed my perspective. They were bought for the same price and the difference is insane! The mids are typical AT and fantastic. But man the Denons are a whole new experience.
For the type of music that I listen to (Prog-Metal), I prefer the ESW10JPN over the D7000/D5000.

For my ears, I'll take the ESW10's over any Denon headphone.

Do you mean J&R? I checked the site and it seems that the price of Denon 7K are back up to $999.00

Did any of you 10 owners have pain from using them? I remember when I had my pair after an hour or two I would have to take them off and it was not very fun :\.

You just gotta stretch them out for a bit. Leaving overnight on a folded pillow works well.. especially as you can use that time to burn-in too.

Call them to preorder and you'll be able to get them at that price.

I did strech mine out it wasn't the clamp on them really it was just the way they sat on my ears made them uncomfortable after a while. But ultimately I sold them because when I am going portable I use iem's and at home I use over the ear so they lost their place .

Thanks LK for the suggestion and I will look into it.

I would love to see AT create a full size version of the 10's and from what I read on this forum the 11JPN are not like the 10's. Hmm, wonder if the ATH-2002 JPN are more in line with the 10's signature.

Well the pads themselves also rotate up/down but also around its axis. With all the modifications, you can find a spot thats comfy. However around its axis its a bit stiff to rotate so thats why it doesn't 'fall into' the correct orientation.

I too may sell my ESW10JPN if the JH-13 is all its cracked up to be, but as I said before, it'll be the last to go

Still can't imagine myself laying that much money on IEMs.
Yeah it would be hard since I throw IEMS around alot.
Heh, you wouldn't throw them around if you payed that much for them

Honestly, if you think about it, it makes a lot more sense paying $1,000 for something that is portable, custom fitting, comfortable and has technology that allows it to have 12 drivers in the two pieces the size of your ear canal. They're efficient, requiring very little power and you can choose your own color/design.

Now compare that to a 'regular' piece of headphones. What do we have around that mark? DX1000? GS1000? HD800 in a year?

In the end you get 2 drivers total, a pre determined size, shape and color. A fit that either works or doesn't, with limited adjustments. Technology wise.. hey lets face it, we have 1950's headphones (DT48) that are still ranked highly even today, so technology wise, that front hasn't advanced very much.

If speakers require more then 1 driver to deliver full sound, then how much can you expect from a single driver? These IEMs seem more speaker like to me then any single driver headphone.
