Flethcher-Munson curve ffect headphones the same as speakers?

ive never seen a loudness button on a mp3 player before. does the fletcher munson curve affect headphones the same as speakers?

Headphones are just speakers closer to your ears.

huh.. never thought about it like that. then why dont mp3/portable audio player manufacturers incorporate something akin to a loudness button or volume dependant EQ into players? or do they expect us to know that.

what about the zune which has no EQ? how does one compensate for it?

I think they expect us not to know that, which is probably why they don't really care.

Yes, when Graham Slee provided the "tone switch" on his Portable Amp the Voyager it was based on the fletcher-munson curve.
