Your eartubes are really short, compared to mine.

Yeah, I noticed. I actually asked Jerry specifically that, that pre-Otterbox JH13s had longer sound tubes than mine did. He said it was OK, though, and that the width of the eartube were what was most important to the sound.

They just got back from the lab to make the eartubes fatter, so that makes them look even shorter.

Got the Predator today. Still deciding if amping is actually making a big enough difference to warrant carrying the extra bulk around, before I get a LOD. I got it mainly for use with the computer.

i dont know how an external amp sounds. but i dont need it at all.

when i listened to rodrigo y gabriela, i was BLOWN AWAY. detailed, dynamic sound.
i can hear what i couldnt hear with ipod.
also, i didnt like how er4s sounds with "crowded" music but now i think it's rather enjoyable.

sorry, i cant explain how good it sounds in detail since english is not my mother tongue.
as a token of my apology, here are some more pics

Sounds great! Thanks for the new pictures. Have you ever heard the Sony X1000 by any chance? Then you could maybe make a little comparison. I still hope that this wonderful DAP will come to Europe soon...

Rod y Gab are indeed mind blowing (seen them live countless times) i always listen to them when i get a new pair of headphones, the difference always astounds me. (you seriously gotta see them live though)

Is it of good build quality and sound? I was thinking about buying one, but I'm a tad hesitant of iBasso's standards...

Poor man's music escape:
IPC 160GB (v.2009) -> DIM (Did it Myself) LOD -> HeadRoom Total AirHead -> XB700
Note that the IPC is black, the silver-grey-ish color is due to camera flash.

i haven't heard X1000 seriously, but could hear it at my local shop for only a couple of minutes.
so all i can say is that it sounded "similar" to mine.

This would be logical as they share the same S-Master amp. Enjoy your new toy!
