Hey dude,

That "fanny pack" as you call it is a vintage 1980s-90s Case Logic model no. PS-2 Cassette TranSport Belt (I own two of them in case one faulters on me).

I use with my MZ-RH710, it goes into the smaller compartment, where you would normally put spare tapes, and the larger main compartment holds all of my accessories (IEM's, remotes, extra batteries, extra Hi-MD's, car keys, etc.) as opposed to a cassette Walkman from back in the 80s.

I only use it (the belt pack) when I skate, and as for using the RH710 instead of my $250.00+ NW-HD5, I would not want to run the risk of having my highest-end DAP in my lineup get wrecked in case I spill over or hit a turn too sharply. Besides, I don't need 20 gigs just to go skating out a Fort Worden State Park (where the shot of myself in my skate gear was taken), I'd rather have the 20 gigs on hand for more convenience while doing something else instead.

Nice looking ESW9!
That was to be part of my new rig.

Wow...some amazing rigs here

I'm currently trying to build a rig myself. I think I'm gonna go wth iPod Touch 2g (16g) as my dap. For amp, I'm gonna take it slow maybe with smaller ones like iBasso T4 or NuForce. Something cheap to begin with.
But I'm having a difficult time on choosing head/earphones. I'm more of a headphone kind of guy so when I was picking, I thought audio technica esw9 would suit me the best. But I heard that they cannot block sound?
I would be mostly listening outside so this is important factor for me...
Can anyone confirm this? and if its true, I'd appreciate any suggestions.
I want emphasis on vocals so esw should have been a great choice.
Thanks and wish me luck on my first rig!

Sound of ESW9 is overall more on the dark side with more bass as well, similar to HD650. Vocals are very nice and smooth. Isolation is useful.
