I will be needing a DAC, well, i have a Behringer U Control, great for hooking up to dads home cinema, and has a very clean headphone out too, but people say it sounds as good as a 5.5g ipod. So my next upgrade will be an amp/dac, as it will upgrade my u control, and be used in my portable rig (UC is UBS powered only) and my cmoy will be retired. I may put a FiiO e5 inbetween headphones and Boa (and maybe use for uber-portable) too if it sounds good (my Cmoy with UC makes it sound better), and when a FiiO DAC/amp comes out i will be getting that to test, and keep it for the cool factor

I have decided i cant afford a pair of headphones for home use that are closed, and sound as good as my Livewires, so im going to buy a PTH and continue using then at home, and treat them to a new DAC. D2 Boa or Corda 2move i think. (and FiiO e5, FiiO DAC/amp) and giveaway the Cmoy, and sell the U Control (once thoroughly A-B'd)

Ahh, can see my rig on your Eee

Gonna re-post mine now i have finished adding flash skins

hooray for attempting to take a pic of my rig while playing space invaders on it. Got my new hornet today! I'll post a legit rig picture when I fix up my mini to mini cable.

@Punslayer
at least now you have a nice and pretty setup, i believe it's sounds awesome..., is that cmoy amp that paired with your sony nwz a-728 ?, if possible, may i take a look inside your portable amp picture ?
post #192 of 5950
Uh, Gatto, isn't the K701 on backwards?
post #193 of 5950
Actually it's a Mini-cubed. I need to update my profile. This is a picture of the insides during construction.

and one of just the amp

It does sound very good. Next step is improving my portable headphones, but I haven't really decided what direction I want to go with that yet.
