April Music Stello DA220 DAC

8/10 on the Audiogon Scale.
Comes with Original Box, Manual, and stock IEC power cable.

It comes from a non-smoking, non shedding pet home. There are two small nicks in the finish, they are towards the rear end on the upper corners of the case. They are not easy to see, but I've taken pics of them to show what they look like. There is also a small stain on the front panel by one of the indicator lights. It's very faint, but I haven't been able to clean it off. I'm not sure what it is, but I have tried alcohol, maybe acetone will take it off, but I didn't want to cause any damage, so I haven't attempted to clean it further. It's not noticeable from a distance at all, but if you like to spend your time up close staring at your gear, then it might bug you.

The RCA jacks are in excellent condition, I have just cleaned them with Deoxit and treated them with ProGold. They are shiny and clean.

I had someone asking about it, and this Stello DA220 is a later model with similar changes in components as the MKII (not the USB input, though). Supposed to have made a small improvement in sound quality, but I have not had a chance to compare to an older DA220.

A quick question Ed - is the voltage switchable to 220v?

Voltage is not user selectable from the outside of the unit to 220V.
Looked in the manual, it doesn't specify, but it says that the power supply is "variable." Not sure what they mean by that and how to switch to different AC voltage input. It could be a switch inside, and / or fuse replacement.

Maybe someone else could chime in.

You might want to start a thread in the Dedicated Sources Forum and ask around if anyone has converted a North American Voltage DA220 to 220VAC.

I have a Stello DA100 Signature which is voltage switchable 110v-220v via a switch inside which is easily accessed by removing the top cover.

Not 100% sure if this applies to the Stello DA220 but I would imagine so.

I'll open it up and take a look tomorrow. It's four screws on the bottom and the top slides right off. Very easy to open up.

Opened it up. Very easy to do. Four screws on top and four on the bottom. Top cover slides right off.

Here's the pics:













As you can see it's not obvious and clearly labelled as to how to change it to 220V. I can see where the wires would need to be moved around, but without a Service Manual, I have no idea. I think an electronics expert like an amp builder might know. Perhaps the red wire connected to "J9" would need to be moved to the empty "J10", but that's just my guess.

I noticed that the fuse panel on the back near the IEC inlet says "250V fuse only".
