First time I've seen the dimensions for it. About as thick as the D2, about 50% higher, and say about 30% wider.

$170 for the lowest capacity one, when converted from Korean Won seems a solid price, although you can't really compare it to what it'll sell at in the US and internationally when it gets released. Glad they've stuck with SDHC cards too, 32GB cards are finally becoming affordable and 64GB are rumoured (confirmed?) to be coming out late 2008.

If they make the bass deeper and punchier I am totally getting it

Yeah, the price point is pretty nice...lower than expected. Hopefully the initial price for the US and other countries will not be too far off.

Needs a line out before I'll spend that kinda money.

Yes, it's not enough for me to consider buying it unfortunately.

Add an SD card and it will go down even more. So you are looking at 12 hours with the SD card (approximate).

People really value battery life that much? I mean for me it's always handy for it to be long but really as long as it lasts the day it's all fine.

Maybe no line out, but as long the headphone out is clean enough to use an amp with as with the D2, surely it'd be okay?

depending on how the device is charged (like from a computer or wall socket) can make a difference for people who need to travel. it's not always convenient to carry a laptop with you to charge your mp3 player for your 2 day fishing weekend, etc. a 24+ hour player would be fine, a 10-12 hour player.. you could get limited.

There's Apple Lossless support? Wow, that certainly is interesting. That would be helpful for people who have all their music in that codec. With the SD card slot, capacity sure can get high.

Not really, as you can convert to FLAC easily. Anyway, how many people do you know use Apple Lossless over FLAC?

Unfortunately, anyone with a high capacity, non-Rockboxed iPod.

I regret getting my iPod Classic now.

I don't want to be forced to charge my player every day. It's nice to have at least 20 hours of battery life on all my players.

To true, 18 hours is a deal breaker for me. If my experience with the D2 is comparable using memory card expansion the "factory tested" 18 hours of the O2 could drop as low as 10 hours in real life once you start using things like mp3gain, high bitrates and higher resistance phones. The battery stats for the O2 surprise me really considering the size of the player I would have thought component layout could have been compact enough to allow a relatively high capacity LiPO battery of around 2600-2800mAh.

With most lithium batteries having a recharge life of 400-500 cycles my usage patterns would have me doing a full cycle recharge everyday which in best case scenario could have my 10 hours down to around 7 within 12 months.
