Super cheap earphones

Hi, having recently invested in a pair of Audio-Technica AD700's...I'm out of money and only have about $35 AUD to spend.

I also recently bought the Sennheiser HD 201 but I found the fit to be most horribly uncomfortable...and promptly returned them.

What are some of the best ultra-cheap earphones out there?

I gave my Sennheiser MX 50 to my sister since they don't have pads anymore and I don't like their sound (anymore) compared to my cans.

I've had a look and all I've found are:

Sennheiser MX 550 (volume adjuster breaks down?)
AKG K12P (where can you buy the earpads?)
Sony MDR-ED12LP Bass Boost
Sony Fontopia (the earbud version)

I also wear thick-frame glasses, so clips can be a major problem.

Any help here?

Here are a couple of earphones that I personally enjoy:

JVC F130 (Gumy) - Cheap and good. DO NOT get the older F120
Sennheiser MX460 or 560 - More energetic and detailed sound than the MX50

I have not tried the AKGs, but they should be good as well.

As for volume adjusters, I've never had a problem with them, but if you don't absolutely need it, I recommend getting a model without one. Earbud foams can be found on eBay although I can't vouch for their quality (porosity, etc.).

Second the JVC F130. Cheap and good bud.

Well, I would be remiss if I did not mention the PL30s, the $20US giant killer around these parts.. They can be found here for $20US (around $700AU, with the current exchange rate, I believe) and are supposedly genuine. I haven't tried them from there but I have a pair from ebay, which were twice as expensive (but apparently the same) and they sound great. I appear to be allergic to the silicone tips they come with and cannot use them at the moment

They are an over-the-ear type design, though, so I dunno if that would be a problem with your glasses? I don't wear glasses so I can't really advise there but I reckon they'd be fine.

EDIT: Forgot to add the link, I'm tired, ok?

I had a look on eBay.

The PL30's are about $60...so its way off my budget.

The other SoundMAGIC 'phones all look like they are based off the OVC TC20 (OEM Crossroads MylarOne)...anyone used these? They're cheaper than the PL30.

Hmm. The Sennheiser MX 460 look pretty nice.

Edit: I've seen $25 pairs of Audio-Technica CM700ti at Computer Trader Meets.

Are they trustworthy? (Compared to a $50 set on ebay.com.au)

I caught a few vendors using their sample ipod selling counterfeit AT CK7s and obviously fake Shure IEMs.

Just want to say that SoundMAGIC =/= OVC =/= CrossRoads. They are certainly not OEM of each others.

Hmmm. Thanks for the submissions.

I've had a closer look at my funds and I have exactly $33.85 in the Australian Dollar.

Thanks for the Focal Price site. I can actually afford the PL30 now.

Oh. Are the Sennheiser CX400/500s on Focal Price genuine?

I don't want to think about wasting my money on counterfeit goods.

Not 100% sure, to be honest, at the price I would be a little skeptical about spending my last $34 on them

Someone said, in the PL30 thread, that they bought some of the Sennheiser headphones off focalprice and they were fake, but I don't know cuz I have never bought anything from them but I personally would be cautious..

Ah ok.

Looks like I shall buy those PL-30s then.

I checked the actual chinese site and they say they're comparable to the Shure E4c.

This means they will sit on top of my Creative Ep-630

They really do give you the best bang-for-your-buck of any of the headphones around these parts, I think. I haven't heard anyone who actually owns a pair complain about them, everyone seems to love them except the people that don't have them

I haven't listened to them THAT much yet, to be honest, because I think I'm allergic to the silicone tips and I am getting impressions of my ears done on Saturday for a pair of customs so I'm not taking any chances cuz if my canals are swollen, they won't fit!
