IEM maintenance/higiene: what works best?

Even though the IEMs are not often shared,
do most people just rinse with water?

And would using bleach harm the units coloring?

What steps do you take to maintain your precious IEMs?

I'm thinking this would be the obvious differentiator between full sized cans and IEMs.

I, for one, use rubbing alcohol and Witch Hazel Extract to keep my ears clean. I don't clean the phone body itself but only the silicone sleeve. I see no need to clean the phone body so long as hands and ears are kept clean.

However, if there were a reason to wipe off a canalphone body, I would do it with a cotton swab and both Witch Hazel Extract and rubbing alcohol. And i would do it very carefully.

What is Witch Hazel Extract?
