I also bought a Total Bithead amp from headroom but I sent it back because I thought it was too expensive (159.00 USD) but now I want it back! I tried a boosteroo through both the headphone out and the line out dock thru an adapter on the docking port of my iPod 80g video and it practicaly burned out my pretty little new monitors. I have a Fio $28.00 USD and a Travagans Colors $56.00 USD(red bone looking thing) on their way but if their anything like the Boosteroo I'll end up getting the Total Bithead back. The one thing I may not be taking into consideration is that the
C-3's only have 11 ohms of resistance and they may not need an amp at all. I just jumped on the "More must be better" bandwagon.
Haha, yeah, I sure did start it Looks like we'll have a few people posting pretty pictures and reviews soon, which should be awesome and if you're wrong, boomy, we'll find you... Haha, j/k, I live in Australia so you're pretty safe.

I have heard that low-impedance headphones benefit from being amplified because they are prone to hissing from the regular headphone out. I haven't even thought about an amp yet, that's the next step, I'm gonna build one in the next couple of weeks but I wanna buy a good one.. I like the iQube but it's crazy expensive..

I am leaning towards buying the fixed cable monitors, by the way, and getting 2 pairs.. Still undecided but I have at least a week to decide

I just got my impressions done. This is going to rock! If the headphones feel like the impressions this is going to be so comfortable and isolating! The doctor said I have really tiny ears so hopefully the headphones turn out ok. I'm getting the c2 headphones because I want the detachable cable but I don't think I need triple drivers. I'm getting the design I mentioned and I'll be putting in the order this or next week I am so excited

do they look weird? I feel like they don't look like anyone elses, at least not the outside part

How Exciting !!!

Hey Gatto

I was born with everything on my left side a tiny little bit smaller than my right. shorter fingers, toes, arms, and legs ( not so you can see) and my left eyesight is much weeker than my right. but my left canal is substantialy smaller than my right and they did fine with mine.

Most people are asymetrical in some way or another. Just not so you would notice outright. The sound port is so small, they'll have no problem making them small enough. I'm really glad you mentioned it because I was thinking of getting my 10 y/o son a pair for christmas. I know they won't fit for very long since he's still growing but I'm only getting him the AE1's.

that definitely makes me feel better. I have little everything, my toes are tiny, my fingers are tiny and I'm short and I've just always been little. I would not be surprised if your son's ears are as big as mine because I seem to be proportioned like a little kid. every nail tech who has ever done my toes said their kids (usually 5-6 year olds) have the same toes as I do.

They may well, email Andre and ask him, he did me a deal on a pair of AE3s and a pair of AE1s cuz I was gonna get my girlfriend some for Christmas.. I was getting my own impressions and shipping was gonna be cheaper so he gave me a very good price but since then, my girlfriend has decided she is "not going to support my stupid obsession with spending lots of money on things I don't need" So long story short, she doesn't want them and I threatened to take her impressions while she slept but decided that might be weird... Haha.

So anyway, now I have a dilemma. Do I get the AE3s and AE1s as a spare for me? Do I get the C3s for the same price? Urgh, it's so difficult to choose, I do want the detachable cable but I would also like to have a spare pair. Decisions decisions.. I'll probably get the C3s, I think, but that could well change tomorrow.

The other thing is that I'm in Australia and, for some reason, our dollar is crap at the moment, for lack of a better word, and if I'd bought these like 3 months ago, they would have been almost 25% cheaper!

i'd upgrade to the c3s.. i mean for 50.. why not.. it's just less macs for awhile... and the upgrade is Long term...

i didn't know it's dual woofer and single tweeter? then it should be pretty diff from the freq shows i guess? considering the 3 way drivers for the freqs...

and boomy.. such generosity! i don't even know if I appreciated music at that level when I was 10...
too bad when most of us were 10, a set of customs would be more than 1k!

I'm getting the C2s, I don't think I need the triple drivers. I'm putting in my order tonight.

If you're referring to Phoenix Hearing in Brisbane, that's where I got my tips done. I was using E5s at the time, and they couldn't encase the driver into the mold... they said it was too large. I'd assume an E3/E4 would be OK though.

It took me about 3 refits to get an acceptable seal. It was a silicone mold. I found that I had to use lube (I tried two, I prefer Siemens' Lubricaid) for a good comfortable seal.

In the end I didn't end up using them as I was afraid they'd fall off the IEM. It didn't take much for them to come off as they have some weight to them, unlike the triple-flange tips that I eventually went back to.
