I'm not sure how it works but Andre says it's not his promotion. It's MSN Live-searches promo. He has no control over it and he has posted a notice on his website telling everyone to check it out. So I don't think he's trying to hide anything.

This is so depressing. Like a month or so ago, I was gonna buy a pair of AE3s and AE1s as a spare and I was all ready to do it, then I wasted time on it and changed my mind to the C3s and now I can't even afford the C2s thanks to this stupid damn economic crisis crap. Anyway, now I have to get the AE2s, which sucks. I'm sending my impressions off on monday. I tried to take a photo to post but it didn't come out well, they are not easy things to photograph..

Hehe, thanks Gatto. I am looking at it like this: I was planning to buy a pair of C3s as my main headphones and another pair, possibly Freqs or sleeks at the end of the year as a second/spare pair. So these are my spare pair, I managed to snatch them up for $300AU including shipping before the price rise so they weren't cheap but they weren't ridiculously expensive. The thing that frustrates me the most though is if I had just bought them when I first found them, the C3s would have been exactly $372AUD but because I didn't buy them back then, they would now cost $538AUD.. Seriously.. How stupid is that?

Anyway, still excited bout getting them and, in other news, I discovered the bi-flanges on my PL-30s are not only more comfortable but sound HEAPS better than the standard tips so at least I will have some good sound while I'm waiting

too bad money isn't universal, all these exchange rates are a big pain. I'm sure I'll love my C2s but I'm starting to wish I went with the C3s, I'm trying to super upgrade everything so I don't keep wanting things, I currently have a 30 gig ipod with a little 4 strand silver/copper LOD a Cmoy amp and K701s. by the end of the year I intend to have an 80 gig imod with the imod female dock ..thing.. going into an 8 stranded copper/silver mini to mini, I'm getting a predator and recabling my K701s with a 4 foot vampire cable.. so the C2s might make me sad by the end of the year.

It's quite addictive, isn't it? Spending money on this stuff. It's a shame I don't have more money to spend, and the money I do have to spend is worth less and less. Oh well, sh*t happens. I have an 80gb iPod and I am semi-considering converting it to a 32gb flash iPod.. I rarely use more than like 40gig of it anyway and I could still keep the HDD as a portable HD.. I was planning to mod my old, broken 4G 20gb iPod with the DIYmod thing, which I am still gonna do, but I have to find a supplier of black gate caps that will ship them to me all the way over in the middle of effing nowhere

I am still thinking about an amp, I don't quite know which one to buy but I haven't done any research yet.. I don't use an amp at the moment at all (except in my home setup) but I want one that's pretty compact..

Oh, by the way, I have to choose a colour now and I can't decide!! Any suggestions? I'm thinking the kinda translucent blue but I dunno!!

It has to do with his pricing, not live. Live is still at 30% discount. Andre had AE1s for $110 on ebay on friday. I saved that auction so I can go back to it after my paycheck went through on saturday. Now he has them up for $170USD(listed for 100GBP). So his website prices may have only gone up $15, but not his ebay prices which I think is unfair.

Why is that unfair? The AE1s on his website are still $125USD (70quid) so why not just buy them from there??

cuz the 30% discount rendered useless due to price increase on ebay listing.

if he deliberately increase the price after knowing the Live cashback, it's a bad move to earn quick money imho.

The cashback is paid by MS, so hearyourself has nothin to lose due to 30% discount but yet increase the price. if they have the reason to increase the price, why the price listed on their website doesnt increased as much?

Just my 2 cent.

Yeah, I guess, but you quoted the price in GBP, leading me to believe that you live in the UK so why are you concerned about the cashback? I thought it was only available to ppl in the US? I searched on live cashback and couldn't find anything so I gave up, I already paid for my AE2s anyway.

nope, nowhere near Europe or States. i'm from Malaysia.

The cashback only work for US residents. i tried it for few times, it's futile

i wish i'm living in the States. audio stuff are very expensive and limited here

Just got email confirmation from live search on my cashback.
They confirmed I'll get 109.00 back on my C3 purchase.

They hold the money 60 days (to make sure of no refund) then the cashback to your PayPal or CC etc.

I guess the smart thing for US people is to always use live search to find things to see if cashback is offered.

Glad to see that it works and that I was lucky enough to hit it when the cashback was 30%.
I think the amount fluctuates so it's best to try until you find the 30%.
