The USPS is notorious fror getting the package to it's destination before thier poor tracking system even shows it leaving, but this is still too long. I would call him and ask him to check the shipment

C3 received!!

I did send my Impression on 29th of July, my impression was accepted 7th of August, C3 was made at 18th of August, and I received it in Holland at 3th of September. Although I did not select the rush option, I do think this was very fast and Im very pleased with this service.

The C3's look absolutly fine, I did select Transparent Electric Blue like Boomy.

I have admit that Im very happy with the customer service from Alien Ears. Andre replied all my mails the very same day, was very friendly.

Im still testing the C3's. It looks like the left one fits better then the right one. The right has a shorter canal of 3mm less. It pops a little when it moves slightly in my ear. When I slightly press it, it looks like it gets vacuum and then the sounds is awesome, but 30 seconds later it still goes back to it's original place before pressing it. So Im not sure if they right one fits okay, but Im still very happy so far. They sound great.

Oh,... by the way, Im very disappointed with the sound isolation part of the custom IEM. They do isolate but very little. When I put those 1 dollar yellow sound isolators in my ear I do hear almost nothing, when I put the C3's in I do hear so much more of outside noise. Maybe it's the hard acrylic thing. Maybe a softer one would isolate more. I do not think it's about the fit. When I press both IEM's then they fit okay and I still do hear outside noise.

Is isolation from both right and left lacking, or is one side more isolating than the other?
The isolation I have when in place is greater than standard foam earplugs.Almost total silence. It may be an incorrect size on the right. you can test this by rocking the monitors gently back and forth in your ears as you insert and press in. They should drop down into the canal as well as recess more as you roll them back from a flat position. Ultimate Ears website has an excelent tutorial video on the placement. It will become second nature after just a few placements. Mine fit so snug that I have to push up on the bottom of my earlobe behind the ears to pop them out.

hah i had the exact same problem he had... and mine fed so snug i had to pop it by means of my earlobe too!

urgh... pray pray pray they turn out ok when they come back to me..

Grrr...

Well, having had my SuperFREQ monitors re-cabled and turned into 'detatchable cable' models by Hearyourself, I'm now 2.5 months into using the new monitors.

The casing lid has just come off the left-hand earpiece.

Anyone know anywhere in the UK that does repairs? Or does anyone know how to repair them? Where do I get liquid acrylic?

Very annoying. The cables didn't work almost immediately after getting them back from hearyourself, although having replaced them with UE cables last week they've been a joy to listen to.

you can use lyquid actrylic from your local nail salon. Just have them dab a bit on and set the monitor under the UV light for a good curing.

uv light = sunlight?
Professional nail salons use UV bulbs to "Fast Cure" acrylic nails, which has been specially formulated with a UV catalyst... Search Google or Youtube for a video about Ultimate Ears. There is one that shows the whole process, including attaching the faceplate with UV acrylic where you can see the technician using a miniature uv light to cure the sealant.

Good man - so you can get the acrylic from any nail salon?
And as I have no UV lamp, I'm guessing I would either have to ask the nail salon to do it, or just leave the unit to cure in natural light... is that right?

I still love mine the almost year I've had them, although I have to send them in for repair due to the left mid/high driver not functioning.. I always just thought my hearing was messed up from something.

I hope this goes well.

YouTube - Behind the Scenes: Ultimate Ears Custom In-ear Monitors Lab

found this.. interesting... i think its when they detail that sometimes they shave a bit too far in and we lose seal... wonder whether alien ears uses the exact same steps..

I've finally received notice from paypal that:

Quote:
Your package will be shipped by PayPal Shipping with U.S. Postal Service
though it seems to be shipped with

Quote:
Service Type: Priority Mail International®
Even though Andre mentioned that the monitors would be shipped 'Expedited' instead of 'Priority' as were the impression kit...

Quote:
I don’t know why they send a tracking number for priority packages they never work. You wont see the tracking appear till after you receive the package! When we return the monitors we send them Expedited so you get them faster.
Well, at least I know it's sorta completed!
