Ipod Line out?

Hey guys....I'm a little confused here.

It looks like there is an Ipod Line out accessary that is offered.

It basically connects through the Ipod dock(bottom part), and adapts it into a Line Out.


My question is....what is the difference between THIS....and the HEADPHONE JACK?


Aren't they both technically going "out" and "into" my amp?

Have a gander at the explanation in my sig. Also, some HP outs are low quality.
