what is the best mp3 player for just sound quality which cleary shines in every way and is a step up from all other mp3 players when paired with expensive earbuds like ultimate ears triple 10 pro, etymotic er4p or shure se530?

is the i audio x5 the best mp3 player in the world for sound quality?

ISN'T THE COWON D2 THE BEST? They go amazing with ultimate ears or shures

Sony A818 and the series sound superb with my triple fi 10 and q-jays. It beats IPOD and Zen Vision M for sure.

probably a player that has a very flexible sound as all the three IEMs (not earbuds) have different sound signatures

The best is such a subjective word when it comes to sq. take advise with a grain of salt.

In my opinion, and after almost 10 years of messing with MP3 players, there isn't a best sounding DAP. It is completely subjective. The best advice anyone can give you is to try some out. See what you like! Whatever sounds the best to your ears is then the best sounding DAP in the world.

This is true as we all seem to agree to disagree. Try a few players out with your favorite headphones and see which is the best player for you.

Short list: iAudio 7, Cowon A3, Sony A series, Meizu M6, Generation 1 iPod Shuffle and the el cheapo Ramos RM850 (has a whole lot of bang for your buck)! Some of the players I have owned that have not won my praises that happen to be highly touted in the community: Sansa Clip, Zen ???, Cowon D2, Toshiba Gigabeat, Samsung P2. That is why it is so important to allow your ears be the final judge.

I'm no experienced audiophile, and I haven't had that many DAPs to call my own, but the Sansa Clip is truly remarkable. It sounds so amazing, either with good (or cheap) headphones, with an amp or not, and through an ancient car stereo system using nothing more than a ten dollar cassette adapter.

Low bitrate MP3s sound incredible, and higher rate music sounds even more spectacular.

Are those enough adjectives taken liberally from Marvel Comics titles?

All the best,
Brad

I love my D2 to me it's the best. But I only recommend it only if you are up for the hassle of tagging all your songs and then finding the best jet effects and equalizer settings that meets your needs. If you use a good amp i herd people like just putting everything flat and everything off.
If you want something simple and user friendly stay away. I herd one of the Sony players have amazing quality sound.

any player that you like will be the best. some have better s/n ratio or less bass roll off. they might sound best to you but that does not mean anyone else likes them. listen to a few and find out.

most players sound very similar with just a few differenences in minute presentation. just listen and find out otherwise you will be trapped in this vicious cycle of never really knowing what you like

samsung's YP-P2 is the best sound quality.
YP-P2 is DNSE 2.0 system.
DNSE 2.0 for superior sound quality, so it can be reproduced the way it was intended through sound personalisation, user equaliser setting, bass extension.

Unfortunately I would have to agree.
Not because I've tested other players side by side, but because DNSe is the best custom EQ system I've heard.
Probably because my old iRiver H10 had SRS WOW, which sucked hardcore.

If I had the $ I would buy a Cowon player to try BBE, and maybe a sony player to mess with the EQ settings.
