Was wanting info regarding the availability of an LOD for a Fuze.

Does the Fuze have lineout? Something like a dock?

dude.

I have been to hell and back looking for a way to line out dock the fuze.

Its impossible without a firmware upgrade.

All other sansa's (with the exception of the clip which doesnt have pins) can use lineout.

fuze. which is the best player from sansa .CANT.

rockbox is the only way, they figured out how to switch off the headphone out and swtich on the line out. but the 5v from the player only trasnsmitts for a second ... then it switches to power from the external powered dock...all other sansa's can keep up a steady 5v from the player through the lineout except e280 (but when rockboxed it can)...but because its not built into the firmware...the fuze cannot.

Nothing's impossible. There's a way. A very simple solution is running a voltage line from the amp the LOD is connected to to power the dock connector. Or using an external battery attached to the case or whatever is containing all of the portable apparatus to specifically power the dock connector.

It's all possible, but it just hasn't had the attention needed yet.

I admire your passion

but its really not.

So far a bunch of diy'ers at anything but ipod, one of the guys from headcoverage, and steve kelby have all tried and come up short.

doesnt work like that, the firmware makes it impossible for anyone to use a dock onnecter that doesnt have the juice of a dc.

So in other words these other people are going to let Microsoft and Sandisk win? I don't think so. They just haven't thought of the right solution yet. If a docks voltage will make it work, a battery will make it work. Both provide voltage. I'd be willing to say the reason they don't use an external battery is because the idea of carrying around another load, in addition to the amp and DAP, is unfavorable.

Beside that, a couple guys, or even a dozen, working on this is not match for the industrial muscle behind a large company full of design engineers and circuit engineers.

Well, I guarantee there isn't a CPU calling headquarters and telling them to shut down the dock because this guy is trying to use an LOD. If power isn't needed to power the dock connector so an LOD can be used then the solution is escaping the people working on it. But there is a solution.

If the connector has a line output while connected to a dock, it can have the same line output connected to an LOD. It just means replicating the same conditions of the dock into a smaller space such as an LOD.

Yeah the question is who is going to make those bad boys then?

Here's a link to the actual dock connectors:

iPod/iPhone Dock Connector ordering

Can someone here use the info in that Sansa forum thread to make an LOD out of those docks that's like the iPod ones?
I would be interested in trying this but don't have the Fuze here.
Anyone can confirm the dock of iPod can fit the Fuze?
No the docks aren't the same.

What do you need lil knight? just the dock connector or an actual fuze?
Oh, I see. The dock looks the same as that of the iPod so I guess they are the same.
Of course I need the Fuze. I only have the Clip here.

Sansa Fuze LOD

I find it hard to believe that someone with skill and the desire to become rich hasn't produced an LOD for the Sansa Fuze.

well I need a fuze got everything else, but since its not actually a line out signal we are tapping, I dont see that its worth the trouble other than bragging rights
